What kind of deck is this? Is it a defending deck? An attacking deck? The answer is...yes!
This deck focuses on SpW ability to use 2 different aspects (groundbreaking i know) to utilize weapons from those aspects for one of the best Aggression events ever Firepower!
Primary Weapons:
Finesse is SpW most important card in my opinion and is crucial to consistently hitting our strategy consistently.
Jarnbjorn allows us to spend a resource after we attack to deal 2 more damage, Finesse easily pays for this.
Excelsior let's us spend an resource after we defend to deal 2 damage to the attacking enemy which Finesse can also pay for.
The beauty of both is that their ability does not require exhausting them meaning we can use them and then use Firepower alongside for more damage!
Sidearm is included as another target for Firepower and to make our allies hit a bit harder.
Gameplay:
The early game you want to get Finesse and your main weapons out as early as you can. The primary ally we're looking for is Captain Marvel as she let's us draw a card each time she uses a basic power. Med Team keeps her on board even longer and potentially the whole game.
Use Pheromones to stun/confuse and give some more time for setup. Armored Vest and Defensive Conditioning boost our defense stat making the defending part of Excelsior much easier to stomach. Very easy to get her up to 5 defense with the upgrades and boost from playing aspect cards.
Once set up with Jarn, Excelsior and hopefully a Sidearm the fun begins.
During the villain phase we defend, use Finesse to pay for Excelsior to deal 2 damage and hopefully ready with Indomitable. During our turn play Firepower exhausting Jarn, Excelsior and Sidearm for 9 damage then use our second Finesse to pay for Jarns ability for 2 more damage.
If Captain Marvel is in play we can attack for up to 4 with a Sidearm and Boot Camp in play while also drawing a card. This would give us a 4 card hand still to play another ally or event and with Quincarrier in play potentially more!
There are no shortage of readies in here to take advantage of SpW Boosted stats. We have 3 copies of Self-Propelled Glide which can be paid for with Deft Focus as well as 2 copies of Indom and 3 copies of What Doesn't Kill Me for a total of 8.
The thwarting mainly comes from Inconspicuous as well as SpW. The Readies can allow you to potentially thwart multiple times in a turn and with Boosted stats she typically controls it well in solo.
The allies all serve a purpose:
Wolverine heals each turn enabling him to stick around longer especially with Med team as well as providing piercing.
Brawn removes 1 threat when he attacks and with Boosted attack stats it feels nice. He helps alot more in solo and could be swapped out in MP.
Wasp is cheap and with 3 different resource generators we can easily pay for her requirements and then keep a 3 attack ally around with Med Team.
Two-Gun Kid can attack 2 different targets which is phenomenal for minion control especially with Boosted stats.
Other Considerations:
I initially had more cheap defense events like Counter-Punch and "I Can Do This All Day" but the deck really felt like it was struggling with threat and the amount of resources spent in the villain phase made the hero turns awkward.
Sentry was in for a bit and as much as I love Bob I had too many 4 cost allies. If I were to make a swap I'd move Brawn out for him and utilize Med teams to keep him alive mitigating the encounter card issue repeating.
She-Hulk was another that was in for her thwart but I found myself opting for other allies.
Electrostatic Armor is great and was a final cut. If you find yourself not worrying about your health it could swap in for Armored Vest.
I've been playing this deck for awhile and really enjoy it both solo and 2-handed. It does do better with someone else helping out with threat but can do fine on its own in solo.
I'd love to hear any feedback or experiences with it!

Jan 31, 2026Just a heads up - Firepower requires exhausting 1-3 weapon upgrades and Excelsior unfortunately is a support |

Venom is also really fun imo having weapon searching abilities in kit as well as weapon readies. Thanks for checking it out! |

Feb 01, 2026Anyone know where to report Excelsior being mislabeled as a support? A user pointed out the error 3 months ago under the card reviews. |
Feb 01, 2026Love this combo! Great deck |
Feb 01, 2026Definitely love this! Firepower, cards that require particular resources (of which Finesse just pays), and the readying to make use of Jess' hero ability...just gold! |

Feb 04, 2026Looks very cool. Since I like to keep my decks at 40 card decks, what cards would you suggest to remove? |

For Agg I'd cut Boot camp For Protection I'd say Armored Vest or Defensive Conditioning |
Oh, I thought you made a deck for me. My mistake!
Jarnbjorn plus Excelsior -- well done! Finesse makes Spider-Woman so incredibly versatile with access to two aspects. I don't think we'll ever see the end of new & creative decks.
