Intro

This deck is a repurpse/perfect defense blend. The repurpose part works normlay by discarding our tech upgrades for extra stats then reuse those stats by readying Gwen multiple times. The perfect defense part is a bit different tho, we want to defend minions attacks and for the villain attacks we either chump block with allies or use a tough status card. Also its important to notice that this deck wants to fight minions all the time so it shouldn't be played against villains that don't have minions in their encounter deck.

Allies

Since we need allies to chump block i put in the web warrior package along with Nick Fury. It is important to know that we should be using our allies mainly to set up minions for a kill during the next villain phase.

Nick Fury - one of the best allies in the game, nothing else needed to be said about him

Silk - Cheap web warrior that can chomp block for us and sometimes discard a nasty card from the enocunter deck

SP//dr - Another cheap web warrior that keeps coming back to our hand so we always have one ally to play, but no chomp blokcing with her unless we really need that block.

Spider-Man - Mainly in because hes a web warrior but also his interupt can sometimes deal some damage

Spider-Man - Very important ally because he gives us extra readies but his requirement makes him a bit harder to play

Spider-Man - Yet another cheap web warrior that can net us even more value if he gets to ready a Web-Bracelet

Spider-UK - Great web warrior for chomp blocks, can also be used to block minions to set them up for a kill after that

Events

Events are the bulk of the deck and these are the cards that do most of the work for us.

Repurpose is one of the core event in the deck which lets us deal huge amounts of damage. Including the 2x Web-Bracelet we have 5 targets for Repurpose so most of the times we will have something to discard altho i should mention that you should keep at least one Web-Bracelet in play since that is our key build card. And even if we don't have a tech upgrade to discard we can always store the Repurpose under George Stacy for later use. Most of the times Repurpose is used to boost Gwens attack but there is the option to boost her thwart if we need to remove more threat.

3x Counter-Punch is our main "kill a minion on the villain turn" card but is also there to leverage Repurpose even more. Because Repurpose lasts until end of the round Counter-Punch can hit for 4 for just 1 ER! Even if it hits only for 2 which is not bad anyway we can use Counter-Punch to trigger Gwens ability and ready after she defends. There are other cards that do similar effect but i chose Counter-Punch because is the cheapest and works well with Repurpose.

We also run 2x "Come Get Me, Bub!" to find minions if there are none in play. Also the heal and tough status card comes handy since we wont be blocking the villains attacks anyway. Important to notice that if there are no minions left in the deck you wont get the healing and tough status card. Its smart to know the number of minions in the enoucnter deck and before playing "Come Get Me, Bub!" count all the minions in the discard pile so we know if we have more of them left in the deck or not. Also if i remember the rules correctly we cant play "Come Get Me, Bub!" if we are at full health or we already have a tough status card so we should take a villain hits from time to time so burn the tough status cards but also lose some health. Taking hits from time to time is also good cause we can throw some damage to a minion with Energy Barrier.

Across the Spider-Verse is in the deck mainly to cheat in Spider-Man. We always exahust Web of Life and Destiny if possible since that is the cost to play Across the Spider-Verse and we dont need Web of Life and Destiny to be ready anyway to get the card draw from it.

Supports

The only support card that we play is Web of Life and Destiny and its the reason why we play a lot of web warrior allies. Every time one of them leaves play we get to draw a card and also Web of Life and Destiny is free for us to play since Gwen is a web warrior in hero form.

We also need to talk little bit about the one support that comes in Gwens kit. George Stacy is very important card for this deck so George Stacy or Parental Guidance are a priority when mulliganing. About half of the deck is events so he lets us store extra event cards under him for later use. But not only that, he can also be used to prepare for a one turn kill once we flip the villain to the next stage. What i like to do is slow the game down by not using my offensive cards if i don't really need to and instead store them under George, and after i feel like i have enough damage just destroy the villain in one turn. But there is one problem with this approach and that is the dreaded obligation card Worried Father. This card can ruin your whole plan if drawn in the wrong moment so you have to be really careful as to how you use George if Worried Father is still in the encounter deck. I like to use the stored cards as soon as possible when Worried Father is in the encounter deck but once its out of play or in the discard i try to build George Stacy fast and do the huge turn before it potentially pops up again. We can turbo build George by using Gwens AE ability and using Parental Guidance. And even if we are unlucky with the obligation the deck still performs well and can still do good amount of damage.

Upgrades

Unflappable together with Web-Bracelet are our main build cards and are top priority when mulliganing. From my experience one Web-Bracelet is enough but the second one wouldn't hurt since we can discard it for Repurpose if not needed. Unflappable is here to draw us a card every time we defend without taking any damage.

Our third main build card is Change of Fortune. This card is the reason why we want to set up minion and kill them during the villain phase. It costs only 2ER and draws us two cards if we manage to kill a minnion on the villain turn which is amazing!

3x Energy Barrier are the cards that glues together the defensive and offensive play style of the deck. We use them on defense to mitigate damage which helps us achieve perfect defense and when almost depleted we can discard them with Repurpose to boost our attack/thwart which helps us on offense.

Electrostatic Armor is there to help us killing minion on the villain phase but also can be discarder for Repurpose if needed.

And lastly we need to talk about Ticket to the Multiverse. This card has two purposes. Early in the game is simply a double resource, but later in the game is a key card that helps us one turn defeat the villain. It basically gives us an extra turn when we are about the go all in. Neat trick that i like to use is flip to AE and shuffle the Ticket to the Multiverse in the deck on the turn that i am about to deck out so i can draw it for next turn.

Player side schemes

Only PSS we run is Specialized Training and the reason is since we can clear it easy with just one Phantom Flip. Defense Specialist, Surveillance Specialist and Combat Specialist are all good choices. We pick the one that feels the best for the current situation.

Outro

As with any deck, there’s room for tweaking, so feel free to experiment with the card choices to fit your preferred playstyle. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts. Happy gaming, and may your heroes always rise to the occasion!
