Protection has always felt weak on the solo side of the game. Very difficult to play. I on the other hand, love making weak things work. I do not think protection is a weak aspect, it actually has a lot going for it! So I paired it with Captain America. My initial thought was "man with an Armored Vestvest Cap can block for 4 and stand up on the next turn!"
Thus the deck was born. I put a bunch of allies to help me do damage and thwart. With Steve Rogers' ability I was able to make these expensive allies a little cheaper. The allies really stole the show. I paralyzed with Mockingbird, then with Iron Fist, then with Heroic Strike, and then it hit me. I can paralyze the enemy for a long time with protection cards. So I added Tackle into the deck. Then I was stunning almost every turn. I took this deck through the gauntlet of villains on expert. I beat every single one of them. I beat Ultron Expert in 20 minutes, Mutagen expert, and I am about to begin an expert solo campaign for red skull!
This deck has had a flawless run in Expert and I have not lost a single game, nor have I even felt threatened by any villain. The reason... Enemies can't attack if they are stunned! I stay in hero mode most of the time unless I just want to get the ally discount, then ill flip down.
STRATEGY: After crunching some numbers the math really puts things into perspective. So after doing some calculations, I found out that this deck has a 70% chance to draw a card that stuns the villain every turn. Tested this theory and sure enough, with a 5 card hand size and 10 draws, 7 of those draws ended up with a stun card. The percentage rises once you get iron fist out since he can do 3 damage and stun twice! So I would play iron fist and stun, then next hand I would Heroic Strike, next hand tackle, next hand mocking bird, next hand no stun card so I would use iron fist, and next hand tackle! There are 9 cards in this deck that stun.
Then the allies take care of everything else:
Blockers: Clea - Cheap and reliable Ironheart - Cheap card draw Multiple Man - Great at the beginning while setting up Nick Fury - Swiss Army knife, he does it all
Attackers: Iron Fist - 3 damage and stun for two turns Nova - with quincarrier he does 2 damage every time the villain attacks Warlock - manages threat, pings off tough cards, heals himself w/ Quincarrier
Strategic: Brother Voodoo - Pulls out event cards for stun in case you don't draw one Black Widow - Literally cancels any encounter card, not just treachery Mockingbird - Stun queen, 2 damage or thwart, blocker
Captain America himself is no slouch though, with his ability he can manage 4-6 threat per turn, or do 4 damage per turn. He can board wipe 4 health allies with Shield Toss, don't forget to bring the shield back in to your hand afterward. He has card draw with Avengers Mansion and Steve's Apartment as well as healing with the apartment and with The Night Nurse to heal and get rid of status conditions. He has Resource generation with Super-Soldier Serum and Quincarrier. If worse comes to worse, with his armored vest he blocks 4 damage and he retaliates!
What can't he do? I'll leave that for you to find out! We could push the envelope and add 3 Never Back Down and increase that percentage for stun, I just found it unnecessary with all the ally blockers and the stuns to include it, but I suppose you could remove multiple man to make some space for it. I've been too afraid to edit the deck since it's undefeated! But once I finish the campaign I might try it! Let me know what you think.
Nice deck, altough I'd change a few things around, mainly because, with so many allies, you're bound to have too many and end up with dead hands.
I did a similar thing a while back, but focused more on events to add perfect blocks to the stuns, to make the most out of Unflappable:

Still if you like it and it wins all the time, then it's really a question of personnel preference.
