Silk's Superpower Shuffle
Since Healing Factor adds another Superpower card to Silk's deck, I wanted to try a build that could facilitate play of her Supowerpower upgrades and events.
With that in mind, I included Deft Focus and Hope Summers (to find specific Superpower cards in the deck, while also counting as another Web-Warrior when Silk is on her hero side). I also wanted to get the Superhero cards into play quickly, so I included a bunch of allies who could continually add to the card draw.
I also wanted plenty of resource cards to pay for them, so I added 3 Mulligans to the deck to shuffle through the deck further if I drew a hand full of those resources and less-than-valuable cards for the current need. In my mind, this is really a 42-card deck with some extra insurance, rather than a 45-card deck.
If you'd like to see a discussion of this deck, see the following video: Coming soon from http://www.youtube.com/@MCDeckDiscussions
VILLAINS TESTED AGAINST to refine the deck and/or game play strategies (in both standard and expert): Klaw (with an expert house rule(1)); Drang; Collector (the 2nd one in the campaign); and Magneto.
Deck Refinements: I had a different build in mind originally, but changed my mind after playing against Standard Klaw.
-
Key Removal(s):
- Laser Swords: With the amount of readying in this deck originallly had, I had wanted to see if these could result in massive basic attacks multiple times, but the deck just didn't need them
- Live Dangerously: With the removal of Laser Swords, this card lost its purpose in being in the deck.
- Stick-To-Itiveness
-
Key Addition(s):
- 3 copies of Mulligan
- Deft Focus
- Hope Summers
NOTABLE ELEMENTS:
Superpower-Related Cards, including Silk's identity-specifc cards:
- Healing Factor: a key Superpower upgrade
- Hope Summers
- Deft Focus
- Eidetic Memory
- Organic Webbing: a key Superpower upgrade
- Spider Reflexes: a key Superpower upgrade
- 2 copies of Smooth as Silk: Zero-cost but still a target for Hope Summers
- 3 copies of Swinging Silk Kick
- 2 copies of Wallcrawl
Resource Card Notes:
- The Power in All of Us: for the abundance of basic cards
- Self Control: While useful in general, this particular card facilitates playing Moon Girl, as do the above 2 cards, along with 23 mental resource cards altogether, plus Ingenuity.
Card Draw:
- Face the Past
- Nick Fury
- Nick Fury, Sr.
- Ironheart
- Moon Girl,
- Silk's alter-ego ability, with the help of the support Albert Moon
- Web of Life and Destiny (combined with the 3 Web-Warrios plus Hope Summers, and even facilitated by Not my Responsibility
- Get in Front of Me!
'Pool Upgrades:
- Blackout: for some extra thwart when needed, and a possible extra "Confuse" beyond Professor X
- Tic-Tac-Toe: Mostly to keep Spider-Man (Peter Parker) in play. This card and the above also act as resource sinks prior to playing Mulligan.
- Healing Factor: Once this is in play, Silk rarely has to use her Recover ability in Alter-Ego.
Conclusion:
Ultimately, this Silk's Superpower Shuffle deck is designed to be a high-octane engine focused on consistency and speed. By leveraging card draw, resource generation, and the unique inclusion of Mulligan, the deck minimizes the variance of a 45-card build. The goal is to aggressively cycle through your deck to consistently find and play Silk's crucial Superpower upgrades and events, allowing you to quickly establish her full hero identity and handle any villain threat. With this strategy, you'll feel less like you're playing a game of chance and more like you're playing a well-tuned machine.
(1) Note on expert house rule for Klaw: This modification assures that expert Klaw makes for a consistently challenging villain during playtesting. After discarding cards at the beginning of the game and putting into play the first minion that is discarded from the encounter deck, if that minion is NOT a Masters of Evil minion, I search the encounter deck for a Masters of Evil minion and replace the original discarded minion with it. I then shuffle that original minion back into the deck.

Aug 26, 2025I like her in Pool as well, and this deck looks great! My favorite thing about Silk in Pool is that she has a unique combo that can remove Dreadpool from play, and she's the only hero in the game that can do this. If interested, check out my write up on how to do it here. marvelcdb.com You don't have to use my deck, the combo works with yours too |
This looks like a great use of 'Pool!
In your write up you listed Smooth as Silk as a SUPERPOWER (it isn't) and you have Spider-Ham's Organic Webbing linked (you need 52009 instead of 30011), both of which are easy fixes.
I've been thinking about your Expert Klaw House Rule. I might change it slightly to "Discard cards until you discard a Masters of Evil Minion..." to avoid adding another step. Yes I might chew through more of the deck, but it's Expert after all LOL
I love Silk, so I'll give his one a try!
