X-Force Mission Completed: X-themed decks for all NeXt/Wave 7 heroes in every aspect vs X-pert NeXt Evolution!

Synopsis:

  • An aggressive deck that uses Dive Bomb with Honed Technique literally drop bombs for 11-damage to an enemy and 5-damage to all other enemies.

  • Plan of Attack is not a card I use often, but it's very good in this deck. It's a to get Honed Technique online and ensure the bonus with Dive Bomb. There's always targets since you get to alter-ego often with Metamorphosis and always cycling Aerial events back into your deck. I've even had some really clutch moments in my games where I grab something in Hero.

  • Boom Boom, Dust, & Wolverine clear those annoying Toughs, not to mention more bombage with respect to the first two.

Cards:

Supports:

Events:

  • Dive Bomb - Not a priority early, but once you get Honed Technique down you'll do 11 damage to an enemy and 5 damage to every other enemy.

  • Plan of Attack - May seem like an odd choice here and admittedly I don't use this card too often, but it is included for a few reasons:

    • In the beginning of the game it helps to ensure that you can get Honed Technique down early.
    • It also allows you to essentially increase the number of Aerial attack events in the deck, but give that event a resource for Honed Technique when needed.
    • Angel is able to spend more time in alter-ego and I often search for the event I need since you choose which Aerial events you want back in your deck with Worthington Industries.
    • This event is 0-cost which helps with his nemesis set.

Player Side Schemes:

Allies:

  • Boom Boom, Dust, & Wolverine - Keep Tough out of your way. There's nothing more annoying than having a devastating Dive Bomb in your hand and there's Tough on the board. This is especially annoying in On The Run.

  • Sunfire - I love Sunfire for clearing villain upgrades. Favored Weapon can be game-altering in On The Run.

Upgrades:

  • X-Gene - Helps with Angel's higher than average number of events.

Plan of Attack is great tech here. Grabbing Adaptive Plumage and thwarting even! Any thought to Hall of Heroes?

@journeyman2 Exactly! I think I forgot to note that you can also grab Adaptive Plummage with Plan of Attack in the write-up. A lot of people may miss that. I didn't go with Hall of Heroes just because I am doing purely an X-theme. But yeah, otherwise I would definitely put it in. I was going to put a section for cards that are not X-theme that you can put in like Vivian & Wasp that are also , but decided I would just leave it for the comments.

Looking forward to playing this deck against Mr Sinister tonight!

Your justification for Plan of Attack mostly makes a hell of a lot of sense to me, but I'm wondering how it helps ensure you can get Honed Technique down early?

@zebramatt Because it's a that Honed Technique requires to play. So essentially you're replacing an attack event that would have had a different icon with a resource, but then it still functions as an attack event.

Good luck vs Mr. Sinister, he can be tough. Let me know how it goes! :)

This deck was an absolute blast!

I did make some relatively hefty tweaks: marvelcdb.com

Leant more heavily into aerial allies (Cannonball actually served really well in place of Wolverine); swapped Psylocke out for Soaring Hearts; rebalanced resource generation a bit; added Moira MacTaggert; cut Build Support because another player brought it. I also don't know how I feel about Soaring Acrobatics.

Angel teamed up with leadership Psylocke and protection Domino.

During the build-up Angel was more than capable of keeping the threat under control. Things got a bit ropey as Sinister acquired his powers and flooded the board with minions, but it always felt like Angel was able to contribute. And then on the final turn I think Angel did 36 damage to finish Sinister off!
