With the next big release a while out, I've been thinking about cleaning out my MarvelCDB inventory and share some decks I've been sitting on for a while. If people are interested, I'll try and share some of what I've been tinkering with over the next number of weeks. If you're interested, please feel free to let me know in the comments below or with a like on the deck.

The Centerpiece Combo: Hangar Bay + Spider UK

Hangar Bay is a card that came out with the release of Storm, so it's relatively new. There are a few interesting synergies to explore, but one that caught my eye is pairing it with Spider-UK. Surprisingly, this looks like it may be an underexplored combo, as there are only a handful of decks posted right now that include both of these cards.

With UK's ability to deal damage as an interrupt when defending, he is the perfect ally for defending minions - - depending on how many Web Warriors you have down at the time, you can often defeat the minion before it can complete it's attack which is quite unique in this game. It's like a retaliate that goes off before you take the damage.

However, defending against the villain though is trickier. UK may deal some damage first, but this is a one time trick unless you pull off some magic and can keep him alive. And who is the best character to pull of that magic?

The Spider-Witch: Throwing out Toughs and Stocking up on Shields

Scarlett Witch has some pretty incredible cards available at her disposal in order to keep UK in play permanently. First of all, with Hex Bolt, she has the ability to throw around tough statuses. I suggest always using the Scarlet Witch's Crest in order to upgrade a two pip card to a three because of how valuable Tough is for Spider-UK. Tough is preferred to stun in most cases because it'll allow UK to hit the villain first every turn, but also because it gets around all those new pesky Steady and Stalwart villains (which are more common than Piercing).

But in addition to Hex Bolts, with her being an Avenger, you have access to Muster Courage. This is a criminally underrated card, especially if you play on Expert. Two toughs for 4 ER is a really good price on Stage II, and when you can play three of them on Stage III... Excellent! ~Chef's Kiss~

And if those aren't enough, our Spider-Witch can also stack 3 copies of Magic Shield which can be used on turns that UK isn't Tough to block up to 3 damage on him. With your ability to pick a new boost card, and your Scarlet Witch's Crest, you're likely to keep UK from taking too much damage if the villain is only at 2 ATK.

Web-Warrior: How to play them, who should stay, and who should go

The trickiest part of this deck is getting enough Web Warriors down so that UK is always interrupting to hit at 4. Web of Life and Destiny is a card you'll want to play when you see it, because then all other Web Warriors are able to be played. When you can drop this with Chaos Magic, it feels amazing! The other key pieces to play early until you have either the Web or UK down are Silk, Spider-Man (Grey Parker) or Spider-Man (Green Morales). These are the Web-Warriors that don't require others to be played first, so prioritize those and keep them down until you have a way to keep a Web-Warrior card on the table.

This deck uses 7 double resources, including both the green and grey doubles. With Spiritual Meditation, you can cycle fast, and when you lose a Web-Warrior, you'll be drawing cards like crazy. SP//dr is one of the best to just keep cycling through, as she'll help with being able to keep the count high for UK's response. However, she really is best when you have 1 extra card in your hand. When that happens, have her do the 2 THW, put her back in your hand along with a new card from Web, and then play her right back to the table and 1 ATK again. It becomes 2 THW and 1 ATK anytime you have one extra card left in hand which can happen pretty frequently in this deck -- because you'll be prioritizing getting Toughs, you're going to often have that extra card in hand. SP//dr becomes a solid ally to maintain efficiency when she stays on the table all game.

To maximize UK's interrupt, you'll want to try and keep 4 Web-Warrior cards down on the table at all times, so a suggestion is to keep UK, Web of Life and Destiny and SP/dr down once you're set up, with a free spot to rotate through some of the good Warriors that have good leaving play responses. If you're playing multiplayer, you can then use UK to block for the first player, and the remaining ally for someone else. And of course, if there is a minion remaining on the table with 3-4 HP left, Hangar Bay can ready UK to do his thing all over again.

Final Thoughts

Wanda flies through her deck normally, but drawing even more cards off of Web Warriors leaving play takes that to the next level. This deck will regularly give you 7 cards to start your turn (from The Sorcerer Supreme and your 'extra' Web Warrior leaving play), and if you use SP//dr, you'll be up to 9. So many awesome choices and decisions to make then about how to keep UK tough as much as possible and having the villain take themselves out.

As always, thanks for reading to the end here. I hope you have as much fun with this deck as I do. Until next time Champions...

I think this is my favorite yet! I’ve done some Hangar Bay+EMH and Hangar Bay+SiN to try and get value from Dr Strange and Spider-Woman; but Scarlet Witch makes a lot of sense here. Utilizing the unique aspects of Magic Shield, Hex Bolt, and Chaos Magic is excellent and Otto readying Crest/Deft is really great. Chumping Ghost-Spider to pull Warp Reality or Chaos Magic can either shut down the villain phase or setup the player phase. Keep this up!!! It’s really helping fill the time till the next release

This seems super fun, I wonder with the economy of most of the protection cards if swapping meditation out for power of protection might work more effectively. Wanda being exhausted in exchange for an ally or core upgrade doesn't feel too bad.

Yeah, along with Spider-UK WW-pack-tactics, I found Groot & Pinned Down on a (1-2Att) minion another great use with Hangar Bay, which gives healing for Groot every turn (as you don't kill that minion and thus also gives you an extra turn to deal with the other attack = 1 "real" block plus the debuffed minion block and Groot gets 4 healing each round.

Another great combo for #UK is First Hit to poke those slightly bigger minions. First Hit is not a "defense" itself (unlike Powerful Punch), so Spider-UK is still eligible to "defend" and all this damage is resolved before minion attack damage.

@Sluggie First Hit is a really interesting idea! Clever how it doesnt affect Spider UKs ability, and it still has use for just hitting the villian if you cant use it on a minion first.
