What's the porpoise of another Clarity of Porkpose deck?! ... Just like local area man Brian O'Brian from Briantown, MD told the Daily Beagle in earlier news, "Hey man, this deck has got like other things going on!"... So many great decks from a lot of well-respected contributors, but I thought I'd still go ahead and post this one because it is unique and most importantly, it's a ton of fun!...

Regroup & Petulant Pig Recursion

  • This deck is a little crazy, but you'll be constantly drawing through most of your deck and bouncing your allies in and out of play throughout a turn. I suppose the craziness fits Spider-Ham, but it also feels thematic with how I think the Web-Warriors should feel -- web-swinging in and out of play.

  • After set-up you're kind of untouchable, you have a ton of resources and you can draw your almost entirely-full deck in single turn. I've bounced Ghost-Spider back to my hand 3 times in a turn (drawing 5 each time) and swung with the little Porker for 20+ damage total in a turn on his own. Going through your deck so quickly isn't a drawback, because this little pig wants to be attacked anyway.

  • This deck is not a meme deck though, nor is it multiplayer-centric despite the Regroup. It is very effective and the best Spider-Ham Leadership deck I’ve tested solo. I would say that it's a more advanced deck to pilot and has specific intentions in its play. It might take a few plays to get what you're trying to do, but it's not incredibly complicated after a playthrough or two.

Synopsis:

  • This deck uses focuses on recurring Petulant Pig with Ghost-Spider, Captain Americat, & Regroup. When played correctly, you'll have turns where you're sitting through a turn with around 10 cards in your hand and still figuring out ways to play allies and draw more cards.

  • You'll be drawing your cards primarily through Petulant Pig, Web of Life and Destiny & the many allies who draw cards in the deck. With Petulant Pig your forcing the villain to attack you on your turn, just so you can bounce what you want back to your hand and draw cards.

  • Throughout your turns you'll be constantly bouncing your allies who draw through Web of Life and Destiny or 'enter play' effects with Regroup and then playing them again the same turn. Each turn is kind of an individual decision which character you want to block and bring back to your hand to keep your turn going, this is where the skill is involved.

Set-up & Petulant Pig:

Warrior of the Great Web:

  • This card I don't typically like, but because you're bouncing back Web-Warriors on your turn and they aren't just dying on the villain turn, this card is actually effective believe it or not. It is more of a late game card though, so don't worry too much about playing it early.

  • I've had turns where I've bounced back at least 5 Web-Warriors for +5 ATK. That combined with the readies from Peter Parker and Organic Webbing aren't too shabby for multiple swings.

  • If you do get a big turn with this card, remember you can use Command Team to ready Peter Parker who would ready the Porkster, or you can use Otto Octavius to ready the Hammer. And of course you can do all of these to get a bunch of big swings in a turn.

Combos:

  • Sp//dr -- You'll use Sp//dr to bounce and draw with Web of Life and Destiny. If you need to, you can use a Command Team to draw her to your hand in a single turn using her ability if needed. Sometimes the need to draw 1 card is definitely worth it.

  • Team-Building Exercise -- Works with most cards in the deck with Cartoon and Web-Warrior traits being prevalent.

  • Otto Octavius -- As stated above, use him with Clarity of Purpose most of the time to get more resources. If you do happen upon a big turn with Warrior of the Great Web, it could be worth using on Huge Wooden Hammer.

  • Lastly, don't be afraid to use all the other cards as you normally would. If you need to, use Ghost-Spider to get what you need when you bounce her back to your hand. A Regroup bounce on the villain turn is also still an amazing play, because you'll still draw a card with Web of Life and Destiny or take a card back into hand that can draw with enter play effects next turn.

Other Card Options:

  • I am trying to cut a card from this deck and despite a lot of testing, I'm still figuring it out. I might cut one Command Team.

  • Adding more Clarity of Purpose is certainly an option, but I find I draw so much even out of the gate that it's not a big deal if I don't get it first turn. Plus mid-late game you're drawing so much and another one has no purpose (pun intended) so it's really just a dead card that you don't want to see while you're trying to get your combos. But if that's your playstyle, of course do it!

  • Multiplayer Options:

    • I would definitely play Symbiote Suit in multiplayer, I can only imagine the deck would do even better in multiplayer with Regroup being such a good card at higher player-counts. Let me know if you try it! Would probably be great with another Web-Warrior so you both can draw cards from your respective allies with Web of Life and Destiny.
  • I've tested this deck a lot on Expert and really haven't come close to anything other than easy wins, Spider-Ham is a pretty high-tier hero.

I can vouch for this being the most interesting way to play Ham-L!

Otto+Clarity+Regroup is a strong combo. I didn’t even realize the potential with Petulant Pig, but that does make it even better!

marvelcdb.com I was running something similar yesterday and it was incredible! Just making awesome plays every turn. With Ham, every time I played Across the Spider-Verse I was able to repeat its effect like it was two cheaper Make the Call’s. If the Sp//dr+Otto loops broke, it fixed them. Triggering WotGW multiple times and swinging for big damage chunks and readying with Peter/Webbing is incredible.

If I’m taking out Ham-L, it’s definitely going to be with this

Would you swap Maria Hill in for Ironheart in a multiplayer game, or does the ability to play Ironheart off The Power in All of Us trump everyone drawing with Maria Hill?

Just tried this and made a few tweaks...

The Triskelion feels actively counterproductive to me. Early game it doesn't really help and gets used as a resource, and late game I'd rather overwrite allies to cycle them out of play in order to boost Warrior of the Great Web.

Command Team doesn't seem to do enough. I see the value in getting Sp//dr back to hand or ready with Petey, but it doesn't seem worth it to me to run 2 copies. Maybe 1 copy - but I just cut them entirely - the times where I felt like I could have used one in play, it didn't feel like I would have been able to spare the 3 ER to get it down anyway.

Clarity of Purpose accelerates your development so much, I really would rather run 2 of them to have better than a 50-50 chance to draw it in the first 2 turns. I know you mentioned that, but yeah, I definitely would rather have the extra chance to draw it early.

I also tried Spider-Man, but I'm not sure he was worth it. I might pull him out to put one copy of Command Team back in.

@journeyman2 It’s certainly the most fun for me. Thanks for the comment, I’m really enjoying your decks.

@dr00 Quite a compliment from the deck master himself. Thanks dr00.

@hoshyoto I forgot to comment on that, yeah I probably would because you’re not that strapped for resources.

@estyles With Triskellion I find I like a lot of allies on the board, because they all do different things and I use them differently.

You can cut one Command Team, it’s probably the first card I’d cut. I like one for Sp//dr and Peter Parker for a big turn with +ATK from WotGW, it’s great synergy. Plus sometimes I pop Gwen in and out on the same turn a lot with Petulant Pig and I can get extra swings. It really goes with how I play the deck and I’d leave one in at least.

Clarity of Purpose x2 or x3 is a personal choice. For me adding extra copies that don’t do anything depends on the deck. With a deck that draws so much to where you go through it in a turn or two, it’s never worth it. I draw so much with this deck I can wait one turn to get CoP. And then mid and late game I go through the deck so much another copy slows me down because it does nothing. I’ve had turns where I’ve gone through my entire deck looping Gwen. Not seeing a dead card over and over throughs out the game when I go through it so much is worth one turn without CoP for me. But again, I think it’s a personal choice.

Spider-Man Hobie Brown isn’t in the deck.

"Hobie Brown isn't in the deck" - he was in it after I tweaked it. Just saying that I tried him, but he probably wasn't worth it.

Thanks for posting this, @Brian-V! Every true solo scenario I've played with it has felt almost trivial because there's always some way to eek out whatever type of action I needed to take on a given turn.
