Page 1: "You are Star-Lord. A reckless adventurer who is as dangerous to his friends and allies as he is to his enemies. What villain would you like to attempt with this deck?"
- To attempt Ronan the Accuser solo go to Page 26.
- To attempt Red Skull solo also go to Page 26.
- To attempt any other villain on Expert and Solo go to Page 26.
- To attempt a standard villain go to Page 57.
Page 26: "Ahhhh! You are met with a painful, fiery death in a spiked pit after drowning in gasoline. Perhaps you should try something easier. Go back to Page 1."
(You remember the Page 57 reference and skip going back to Page 1. Star-Lord always takes the short-cut.)
Page 57: "You hurriedly land on an unknown planet. Gamora is nervous because Drang and his minions aren't too far behind. It feels like the hand you've been dealt here isn't the best. So, you mulligan until one of your allies arrive. You get your trusty Element Gun and find Ronin. You and Gamora are confused why his name sounds exactly like one of your most hated villains. After that confusion passes, you're able to give him some attachments. Ronin feels Inspired that the Comms Implant, Laser Blaster, and Power Gloves will help him defeat Drang right now. Do you...?"
- ...attempt to defeat Drang with Ronin, and do as much damage as possible right now. Go to Page 13. (At least it's not Page 26!)
- ...attempt to thwart with Ronin, and continue setting up with Bad Boy, Helicarrier, Knowhere, Jet Boots, Team Training, Booster Boots and Leader of the Guardians go to Page 35.
Page 13: "You are woefully unlucky and surrounded. Turn to Page 26."
(You curse the Gods, ignore the Page 26 directive and flip to Page 35.)
Page 35: "Now that you've set up, you can bring out your other heroes. You give Giant-Man: Reinforced Suit, Sky Cycle, Laser Blaster and Inspired. For Goliath, you find that he loves to go out in a Blaze of Glory, you can use him combined with Laser Blasterand Target Practice. Do you want to use Blaze of Glory now?"
- Yes. It's time to take Drang down. You can revert to Peter Quill and just listened to your Walkman after. Go to Page 7.
- No. Gamora asked you to wait. You can still set up some Air Supremacy and Sky Cycles. Patience is key. Go to Page 25
Page 7 "You're not dead, but you kind of wish you were. You've singed Gamora's hair and skin while you were happily listened to Blaze of Glory on your Walkman. You'll be sleeping on the couch in the Milano tonight. Tuck your tail between your legs and go to Page 25."
Page 25: "You're finally here! Drang's end. It was a culmination of a lot of Teamwork, Air Supremacy, and a better timed Blaze of Glory."
Conclusion:
You realize that with a little practice you can set up your allies a lot better. You can coordinate with your teammates. You can agree on when to attempt a Daring Escape, and when not to. This is your adventure. Choose wisely!

Thanks. I figured if anyone would cheat at a Choose Your Adventure book, it'd be Star-Lord. My priorities for Voltroning: 1) Goliath - he thwarts like a champ until he hits like a truck. 2) Giant-Man - Most consistent damage. Give him extra HP and he'll crush things. 3) Iron Man - his damage is good, but the fact that all upgrades cost 0 make him phenomenal. 4) Ronin - Adding Inspired make him a force to start off. 5) Nova Prime - His upper damage and thwart are amazing and he can kill a HP minion upon entry. Helps with Air Supremacy. 6) Adam Warlock - He can be Voltron-ed but his main effect to either give 3 HP, do 3 damage or 3 thwart. His also around for Air Supremacy. |
May 21, 2021I just tried this with Expert Absorbing Man, and won in 6 rounds. Got Giant-Man on the first turn. Gonna test more. |
"two thumbs way up!"
