Gwen spent some time in otherworld learning the Kaio-Ken technique. Gwen can now multiply her ki for a "heartbeat" to amplify her power and speed.
This is a combo deck meant to have some fun damage dealing turns with Adrenaline Rush and Moxie. Gwen gets several readies a turn with her Dizzying Reflexes ability, Spider-Man and Ticket to the Multiverse. Go All Out is a fun way to turn all those stats into one big hit. All with a splash of Dragon Ball theme.
Kaio-Ken Times Gwen
Kaioken! Adrenaline Rush can give +1 attack for some extra damage or stack them up for big +3 attack boost in a turn.
Kaioken times 2! Boost Gwen's base power level with Moxie whenever she flip to Hero. Since Moxie is a response, you can even exhaust to recover before flipping to Hero and ready with Dizzying Reflexes.
Kaioken times 3! Warrior of the Great Web and the web-warrior allies push our damage and speed beyond the limit. SP//dr loop consistently boosts ATK by 1. Spider-Man 2099 can activate, bounce himself to the hand, increase Gwen's ATK by 1, then return to the board. Spider-Man can activate to ready Gwen, then Spider-Man 2099's second activation can bounce Spider-Man to the hand, gain another +1 ATK, play Spider-Man for another activation. Get +3 ATK and 2 readies out of the bounces.
Kaioken times 4! Go All Out channels all of Gwen's Ki (stats) into one big burst of damage. Go All Out is nice with Gwen. Dizzying Reflexes helps to ready during the player phase, so that last activation can be turned into great damage with Go All Out.
Kaioken time 20!! Putting it all together is tricky but if you're wanting to push yourself beyond, then lets get to 4 THW, 12 ATK, 6 DEF. Starting in Alter-Ego, have 3x Moxie attached to George Stacy, Spider-Man 2099, Spider-Man, and SP//dr in play, Web of Life and Destiny and Avengers Mansion in play, 3x Adrenaline Rush in play. Flip to Hero and pop all Moxie to get +3 all stats. Get all the blood flowing by discarding Adrenaline Rush to get +3 ATK. Ally bounce time. SP//dr thwarts for excess consequential, bouncing to the hand, drawing a card from Web of LnD and +1 ATK from Warrior of the Great Web. Play SP//dr and thwart with her to knock her out with consequential, draw another card and +1 ATK. We are at 4 THW, 10 ATK, and 6 DEF, but we're still powering up. Spider-Man 2099 is going to activate and bounce himself to the hand (draws a card and +1 ATK). Gwen can throw in an 11 ATK hit, so that we can then use Spider-Man to activate and ready Gwen. Can play Spider-Man 2099, activate with him and bounce Spider-Man to the hand (draw a card, and +1 ATK). Play Spider-Man, attack with Gwen for 12 ATK, activate with Spider-Man to ready Gwen, and attack for another 12. Ticket to the Multiverse gives us another ready and a brand new hand work with. Ideally we see some Ghost Kicks or maybe even a nice Go All Out to hit for 22 damage.
Father-Daughter Kamehameha
George Stacy gives a lending hand to help Gwen push past her limits. Attach Moxie and Go All Out to George to set up 9+ damage Go All Out hits.
Wish Em Back
Our allies get some training with King Kai in otherworld too. They can perform the Kaio-Ken technique themselves to a limited extent for temporary power ups. Kid Omega can burn some resources to get more damage or threat removal on the board. Spider-Man gets a power up when played from the hand. Slingshot can burst onto the board a single but returns to the hand at the end of the turn. Vision can boost one of his stats every round.
Wish your allies back one at a time with Make the Call or several of the Web-Warriors with Across the Spider-Verse. In multiplayer, the greatest wish of all Call for Backup gets allies for everyone.
Deck Piloting
Strength. The stat boost combos are fun, but the web-warrior engine is where the deck shines. Spider-Man extra activations for other web-warriors is absurd. Spider-Man 2099 helps to bounce Spider-Man for more activations. SP//dr provides extra stats on the board with 1 ATK and 2 THW every turn with her bounce. Web of Life and Destiny and Warrior of the Great Web provides constant incidental value from the web-warrior bounces. Make the Call and Across the Spider-Verse help to set up our allies.
Weakness. The deck may struggle from dead turns. Adrenaline Rush and Moxie can do very little if that's all you draw starting in hero along with some double resources. The allies are meant to smooth out the set up experience. The allies have great stats and stickability with 3 HP on all except Kid Omega and SP//dr. Team Training is great card to play if drawn in the first turn as it gives allies the longevity to smooth out our turns until we have our engine. Blocking with allies is not necessary for Gwen. Unless it's an emergency to avoid a knockout, Gwen will basic defend all game. Parental Guidance pulls extra duty to cover the weakness of the deck. Use it to attach Across the Spider-Verse and Make the Call to George Stacy to make sure we have a useful use of resources.
