Ready for a Fight: Part V: Ready for a Giant Stomp!

Giant Man stomp!

Part of my Ready for a Fight series of heroes, which is the best way to reframe old heroes.

This deck mitigates the 4 card hand size of Giant-Man, allowing you to drop down to Alter-Ego more often, using Ready for a Fight, to minimize scheming, and use Ant-Man's Helmet more consistently for healing on the way up and doing damage before you defend and counter-Punch.

The goal is to go into hero mode and back down to Alter-Ego. You won't have to switch from Giant form to Tiny form after your hero turn.

You want to set up minions at 1-2-3 HP so on the villains' turn, you can trigger Change of Fortune for more card draw.

Here are the key cards.

  • Ant-Man's Helmet: Hopefully, you can get this out early to trigger Ant-Man's powers.

Almost everything else can be added as you see fit. You should be able to control the board and rinse/repeat using Ready for a Fight to hero up, then power down at the end of the turn. If you get Resize you get your Giant/Tiny bonuses.

As you are building your hero kit, you will get at least 2 techs out so you can play Spider-Byte for free or 1 resource.

If you use Ready for a Fight, you can then use Desperate Defense and Counter-Punch, to punch for 5.

Because you are (Trying to) start in Alter-Ego each turn, you can set up your turn much better than having already been in hero mode.

Here are the other cards and what they do.

Good luck and have fun.

**Other decks in this series:

Ready for a Fight: Part I: Ready for A One-Two Punch! https://marvelcdb.com/decklist/view/50416/ready-for-a-one-two-punch-2.0 Allowing you to be in Alter-Ego and get 10 cards to start your hero turn.

Ready for a Fight: Part II: Ready for a Preparation! https://marvelcdb.com/decklist/view/50440/rfaf-ready-for-a-preparation-1.0 You will have total control on the board and all your cards played.

Ready for a Fight: Part III: Ready for a Repulsor Blast! https://marvelcdb.com/decklist/view/50485/rfaf-ready-for-a-repulsor-blast-1.0 A nice way to still get your Alter-Ego abilities even late game.

Ready for a Fight: Part IV: Ready for a Hulk Smash! https://marvelcdb.com/decklist/view/50535/rfaf-ready-for-a-hulk-smash-1.0 Play hulk with RFAF and you actually keep your cards, have a larger hand size and not worry about scheming, because your Hulk and your thwarting sucks.

Looks fun! I love that you’re going through old heroes and looking at them through the prism of a new card.

With all the form-changing, did you consider Perseverance to limit damage from the attacks? Just a thought.

Thanks, @boomguy. I had not thought of that card, and it may be good for lots of these archetypes. I had been using Dr. Sinclair + Down Time as a health battery for the more squishy heroes, but that may be an option. For Ant-Man, because he's getting 3 health per turn, 1 on the way down in AE mode, and 2 on the way up with Ant-Man's Helmet triggering in Giant form, he was good. I think that card will be really good for Hawkeye RFAF which I'm working on down the pike. Thanks for taking a look.
