As a newer fan of Marvel Champions, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was my first contemporaneous Campaign Expansion and the first Campaign Expansion I completed on Expert. These decks will also be my first submissions to the site, so be kind!

For my Expert Playthrough, I chose to keep Nick Fury and Maria Hill in their Pre-Con Aspects. Nick Fury in Justice and Maria Hill in Leadership were a perfect pairing. This Maria Hill deck is meant to be paired with the Nick Fury deck:

Logistical Nightmare

Maria Hill is the Master of Logistics. She has access to many assets and utilizes them to do all her dirty work. For this deck, I've included 17 S.H.I.E.L.D. Supports and a handful of S.H.I.E.L.D. Allies that are perfect for taking advantage of these supports. You'll need a large table and a lot of All-Purpose Counters. During my playthrough, in one game, I had twelve S.H.I.E.L.D. Supports on the table with 27 All-Purpose Counters - I had to supplement with Threat Counters!

It is worth noting: Sky-Destroyer, The Bellerophon, The Iliad, All-Points Bulletin, and The Hard Call all do damage and are NOT Attacks. This means NO Retaliate, and NO Response Triggers. This is very important to remember as you progress through the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. campaign.

The Assets

The strategy for this deck is to play out as many Supports to the board as possible on your first deck pass. Ideally, you'll get Support Staff and S.H.I.E.L.D. Director out on turn one. If your mulligan is not kind, Maria Hill can fetch The Pericles, which is also a solid start.

After that, play out the remainder of your Supports and Allies as efficiently as possible. I suggest putting out the Sky-Destroyer as quickly as possible - Every Ally and Support in this deck has the S.H.I.E.L.D. trait. Use it to clear off annoying Tough stats cards, or to clean up minions after you use The Bellerophon. You'll end up getting a lot of value out of it.

And speaking of value, All-Points Bulletin is absolutely bonkers. It isn't uncommon to get ten or more damage and/or thwart out of All-Points Bulletin once you get your support chain up and running. It is such a game-changer. I'm not sure if a more effective clean-up tool exists in the game!

The real fun begins when you start deploying personnel via The Circe (Well, Grant Ward is free). With some creative logistical play, you can turn your S.H.I.E.L.D. Personnel into absolute monsters. Give Ward a Sidearm, target him with R&D Facility, and swing away. If you have two Command Teams, you can burn him out in one turn. You can also use Agent 13, with the help of Field Agent, to buff him again with R&D Facility. That gives Ward 15 ATK or 12 THW potential.

Likewise with Dum Dum Dugan, except you'll want to make sure to give him a Tough status from The Pericles. You'll never have to worry about his consequential damage again!

Melinda May synergizes well with the paired Nick Fury deck. She's extra Encounter Deck manipulation that can help you get the most out of his Plasma Grenades (and, of course, pitch nasty Encounter cards).

Other Logistical Considerations for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Expert Campaign Play

This deck list only includes Strength of the basic double resources. Generally, Maria Hill has plenty of economy to make this deck work. Strength is included to supplement her ability to deal with the Chief Tactical Officer. I HIGHLY suggest adding Energy and Genius to your deck for the Black Widow encounter. One early A.I.M. Interference can ruin your day. After Black Widow, feel free to take them out, as the Executive Board should be much easier to manage.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Expert) Stats:

  • Black Widow | 1/3 (Game 1, Threat out Turn 2 | Game 2, Turn 1 A.I.M. Interference | Game 3, Victory)
  • Bartoc | 1/3 (Game 1, Threat out Turn 2 | Game 2, Threat out Turn 5 | Game 3, Victory)
  • M.O.D.O.K. | 2/2 (Game 1, Victory | Game 2, Victory)
  • Citizen V (Power of the Atom, Supersonic, The Leaper) | 1/2 (Game 1, Victory | Game 2, Loss to Damage)
  • Baron Zemo | 1/2 (Game 1, Threat out Turn 2 | Game 2, Victory)

Overall Record | 6/12 (50%)

@boomguy Thanks for checking it out! It plays very different than any other deck I've played before. It's likely not for everyone, but had fun with it!

Really glad to see that you're posting decks here! I think this deck is solid! Some of the villains in AoS are quite difficult! So defeating that whole campaign on expert is a great showing for the deck! Personally, Campaign is my favorite way to play. Often decks are solo stand alone focused on the site, so hearing about your campaign experience was really nice! Keep it up! I'll stay tuned for any new decks you post.

Thanks @Daring Lime! I found that how well you do against Black Widow (in both Standard I and Expert) really sets the stage for the rest of the Campaign. As I mentioned, I found it extremely useful to add Energy and Genius to help keep the Executive Board under control.
