Have you always dreamt of being a super hero wielding a laser sword? Perhaps you are one of those people that wanted to dual wield these ignited life enders?

... well then how about a Super Hero Space Knight wielding 4 Laser Swords?!

But... but... I'm guessing there are a few questions?

  1. It says "Max 1 per deck", is this even possible?
  2. There is only 1 copy of Laser Swords in this deck, what gives?
  3. Each of the cards counts as 2 restricted, that's 4 in total, aren't we only allowed 2 max?

Point 1: (Max 1 per deck)

Rules 1.6 has this to say about "Max 1 per deck":

“Max X per deck” restricts the number of copies of that card that may be included in each player deck.

Since we are not going to be including more than one of these in our deck, we should be good.

Point 2: (1 copy in deck)

We only have 1 copy? Well the neat part is tat someone else is going to provide the second copy of Laser Swords, we shall call him the Squire. Since we are only allowed to put 1 copy in our deck, we will be using Plot Convenience to get the second copy into play.

Point 3: (Restricted)

By default the game allows us 2 restricted cards in play, this takes care of the first copy of Laser Swords. Venom lets us control an additional one, bumping it to 3. Side Holster is going to give the last bump up to 4.

How to Play

Note: You are not going to get any of Venom's hero weapon upgrades into play, they will take up restricted slots. So don't play Multi-Gun or Venom's Pistol.

  1. Get Plot Convenience into play as fast as possible. At some point during the game, your Squire will be able to put his copy of Laser Swords under it.
  2. Get first copy of Laser Swords into play (your own).
  3. Get Side Holster into play, some time before taking the second Laser Swords from Plot Convenience.
  4. Get second copy of Laser Swords into play, by taking the Squire's copy from Plot Convenience.
  5. Get Live Dangerously into play and hit something very hard.

Alternative

If someone is playing Deadpool Squire, it should be possible to get the second copy of Laser Swords with Armed to the Teeth. This is finicky, as it requires:

  1. Another weapon upgrade in play on the Squire.
  2. Armed to the Teeth in play.
  3. Swapping weapon upgrade in play with Laser Swords from Armed to the Teeth.
  4. Getting Laser Swords discarded somehow.
  5. Drawing Laser Swords on a turn down the line.
  6. Putting it under Plot Convenience.

Are we breaking the rules? ... well its a game made of mostly cardboard, maybe the rules can be bent a little, just like the cards ;)

I haven’t gotten a chance to aim for the 4 laser sword trick, but the deck was pretty awesome on its own with the extra ready and the weapons! Locked and Loaded made it so easy to make sure I got Laser Swords

“Rules? They’re more like guidelines, really.”

Venom pool is so much fun, my version of it was different for solo play but this is a great idea! Good stuff
