Hawkeye Staying Alive

This spurred from a discussion on VillainTheory's discord server. It's been a while since I've played Hawkeye, and he has a lack of incentive to flip to AE (outside of the +1 hand size and trading damage for threat, which isn't nothing!). So I figured I'd take the same concept I had with my AerieMan deck (https://marvelcdb.com/decklist/view/32093/aerie-man-says-sometimes-the-best-defense-is-no-basic-def-1.0) and see if it works well with Clint and give him some incentive to go to Alter Ego.

After a few games, here's where I settled. We have some chip healing with Med Team and The Night Nurse, and a bomb heal with Render Medical Aid. The real star here, though, is Angel's Aerie.

Once Angel's Aerie is down, cards like Defiance, Jump Flip, Side Step, and Powerful Punch all give it a counter. You'll take some damage, but not much, and with your recovery, you can likely make up for most of the damage.

We also have some great allies! Black Widow can help us dodge a nasty encounter card and do some thwarting. We want her to stay on the table, so Med Team will help with that. We have three amazing damage-blocking allies as well. Nightcrawler can defend and then save himself with an energy, and we have 14 cards with that resource. Polaris can tough herself or Nightcrawler when she hits the table for a clean block. And, of course, Mockingbird is a less limited version of Nightcrawler.

Last note, we have 2x Nerves of Steel, and I know going down to 1 helps us stay at 40 cards, but I've found the resource generator is key for making sure we hit kickers on Side Step and Jump Flip.

Now it's time for some target practice!
