T"challa doesn't seem to get much love nowadays. With his Vibranium, you have access to some serious money, and many people use him in Leadership to stall long enough to set up your Upgrades. However, this kind of tactics never really sat well with me for the Black Panther, and I wanted to see if there was a way to build him a solid deck that suits more of the agile and deadly style we've come to know of the mighty Wakandan. So, allow me to reintroduce the King...
T'challa has some pretty nice things about him. Recovery 4 is pretty sick, but many people forget he also rocks a retaliate 1 stat. This is the founding principle of this deck: using our Retaliate to win via attrition. In order to get value out of Retaliate, we need to be able to defend ourselves. So, first we add in defensive upgrades (which we can also pull with Shuri if it's desperate enough) like Energy Barrier and Forcefield Generator to give us long term defensive tech while we look for our kit upgrades. Electrostatic Armor also is NASTY with Retaliate, so be sure and slam that down to start whittling away.
Next, the other ways we defend ourselves: The War-dance. Gwen is known for liking defense events so she can ready, giving her the feel of an agile fighter flipping and outmaneuvering the enemy. T'Challa also definitely has the moves, so why not try them on him? Not Today! and Jump Flip helps us dodge damage and mitigate threat (the one big problem imo for this deck) while Subdue can be used on any attack to lessen the blow. (Perfect for multiplayer, if I might add.) If we can, we can combo these with Taunt to dig deeper for our upgrades! What if we aren't looking like we want to dance? (because we don't have these at least) We have powerful defensive allies in Rockslide and Victor Mancha that help ward off enemy offense while we continue to seek out our Upgrades. Nick Fury and Professor X are powerful cards we can easily afford thanks to Vibranium and our other doubles.
Once we actually get setup, we simple dig for Wakanda Forever! and just pop off. At this rate, because of our Retaliate, the fight shouldn't go on too much longer, and our Upgrades can weather whatever else our opponent has planned. If you do find yourself weary, just remember that a singleton Second Wind is an absolute gamechanger in this kind of deck. It looks awkward, but after testing with Dr. Strange I can safely say the comfort of it can be one of the best feelings in the world!
