I know this deck doesn't have Justice Served, but Captain America has built in ready with "I Can Do This All Day!" which is cheaper than Justice Served. I wanted to play around with Chance Encounter.
This deck is designed around clearing threat and getting something for it (but mainly more cards). With its survivability, it's not expecting to flip down often once it gets going.
Key Cards
THW Boosting
- Heroic Intuition - permanent +1 THW
- Fearless Determination - card cycling and +1 THW for the round
- Making an Entrance - +2 THW for the thwart
Card Draw
Every hero loves card draw, but Cap extra loves it for discarding to ready with "I Can Do This All Day!" and Shield Toss.
Play
One Way or Another really helps accelerate all of the Supports and Upgrades you want on the table. In solo, with at least one THW Boosting card, you should be able to clear that side scheme on the opening turn.
Surviving
With a number of allies for chumping, I find I don't need to be spending Heroic Strike until the mid game. Also, Shield Block can help when drawn for a block. If you need to flip down, Professor X is included to provide a confuse as a reprieve. Use Steve's Apartment for that heal and extra draw.
Minion Management
This is probably the weakest part of the decke
- Shield Toss is probably your best bet.
- Turn the Tide is also able to deal some extra damage while doing the thing you're great at.
- Snowguard is expensive but flexible. She can turn into a 3 ATK with overkill.
- In a pinch or combo'd with either of these cards, you can just do a basic 2 ATK.
Cycling Nick Fury
A cornerstone of this deck is to pull out a side scheme with One Way or Another to draw 3 cards and be able to clear it the same turn. If you're able to get Chance Encounter (maybe in the 3 cards you just drew!), you can play on the side scheme you just pulled out. Once that side scheme is cleared fetch Nick Fury from your deck OR discard. With 2x The Power in All of Us, Super-Soldier Serum, Quincarrier, Skilled Investigator you should have a good chance of being able play Nick to draw 3 more cards! Once I've thinned my deck, it's common every few turns to pull this off as long there are side schemes in the encounter deck where I'm draw at least 8 cards:
- One Way or Another: +3
- Chance Encounter -> Nick Fury: +3
- Skilled Investigator: +1
- Avengers Mansion: +1
The nice thing, every card draw can draw you into a combo piece/answer that you're looking for whether it's extra THW needed to clear the side scheme (Fearless Determination is great for cycling into other cards and a THW boost), damage from Turn the Tide, or allies to play!
