En-Wasp-ment: this is just your Ant-rapment deck again, isn't it?
The Entrapment Series so far:
- Ant-rapment — ft. Ant-Man
- En-Wasp-ment — ft. Wasp
This is a Wasp version of my recently posted Ant-rapment deck.
I intend to publish at least 1 other deck revolving around Entrapment in the coming days, so I guess this is now a series :p
The difference between Ant-Man and Wasp is small, so I'll simply highlight the differences, and copy-paste the similarities.
Overview :
- Play Style : Entrapment every turn. Choose your form.
- Fun: Medium-High (change form twice per round! But don't expect it to NOT be swingy at low player counts ;) ).
- Difficulty : Low-Medium (easy game loop, but many effects).
- Power level : Medium (stronger in multiplayer).
- Recommended Player Count : 2 (see solo and 3-4p at the end).
- Number of cards : 42 (4 removed from the game).
This deck has won against Expert Kang, Sabretooth, and a few others.
Concept :
Wasp likes to change form. Entrapment lets you change form more often. It even lets you choose which hero form you prefer at the moment it triggers. Easy as that.
This is mainly a 2+ player combo. It works fine solo too thanks to our safety nets, but solo is always more swingy (see "solo" at the end).
No Professor X+Cerebro combo here, for a change! :p
What differs from the Ant-rapment deck? :
With Wasp I added Lay the Trap, Waylay and Spider-Woman in order to deal damage a bit faster, to compensate the loss of Army of Ants. Remember that Entrapment does damage too!
Your deck can technically last you a long time if you reshuffle Entrapment, Lay Down the Law, and your 2 allies! Don't go much higher than 42 cards (4 cards can be removed from the game), to ease your first turn/mulligan though.
She heals less than Ant-Man, so we play Stealth Training just in case.
The En-Wasp-ment loop:
- The villain schemes, you change to GIANT (or TINY sometimes) form deal damage with Entrapment, play Lay Down the Law with Sense of Justice, and remove 4 threat. Play your turn, then maybe go back to alter-ego, and reshuffle 2 of your many cards.
- You usually want to go GIANT because it's almost strictly better in any ways. But TINY becomes better if you have Rapid Growth, Pym Particles and/or Pinpoint Strike in hand!
- You don't have to end in alter-ego every turn, but it's what you should aim for most of the time.
How to play this deck:
- Mulligan for a way to not lose the main (Counterintelligence, or Under Surveillance), maybe a side scheme, and...that's it, you don't really need anything. Entrapment on turn 1 can sometimes be worth it too.
- Specialized Training gives you either Surveillance or Combat Specialist.
- Focus on not losing the main scheme.
- Reshuffle your Entrapments with your AE ability, and draw a lot to replay them.
- Also reshuffle Lay Down the Law, One Way or Another, Agent Coulson, Squirrel Girl, etc. All great cards.
- Quincarrier and/or Sense of Justice help you pay for Lay Down the Law easily.
- Squirrel Girl is brokenly good. And she can set up a Stealth Training stun
- Agent Coulson gives you Entrapment, Practiced Plan, or Counterintel..
- Stealth Training can easily be triggered thanks to your GIANT ability, or Giant Help. Stuns can help you stay on hero form if you somehow didn't fund an Entrapment this turn, or prevent double activations.
- Deal damage every turn with Entrapment, then defeat Lay the Trap, and play Waylay + Pinpoint Strike to defeat the villain.
- Spider-Woman also sets you up for big damage turns. Filled in 3-4 turns.
Other cards to consider:
- Solo: +1 Spycraft, and play Agent Coulson when you see him! Focus on Under Surveillance and Counterintelligence. Hard mulligan for it I'd say.
- 3-4p: -1 Under Surveillance, +1-3 Skilled Investigator. -1 Clear the Area? -1 One Way or Another? +2 Assess the Situation?
- Crew Quarters could replace Stealth Training.
- Melinda May +1 First Aid are both resources, and can make really safe going into alter-ego in solo, or even 2p! I preferred Spider-Woman for the published version because I like violence more than even more safety apparently :p
- Swarm Tactics if you really want to. Not needed.
- +1-3 Skilled Investigator.
- Clear the Area because and helps Spider-Woman.
Anyway, enjoy, have fun,
and don't forget to drop a like/fav, it's always appreciated :)
Spider-Woman ally is a great choice
