One of the difficult parts for Iron Man can be getting his tech upgrades out quickly to build his hand size during the hero phase. This deck aims to accelerate the process with the addiction of some newer cards.
New Kids on The Block:
The 2 recent cards that really help Iron Man are Yellow Jacket and Avenge me.
Yellow jacket can only be played in hero form (unless you opt to add honorary avenger to the deck) but he let's you search the top 5 cards of your deck for an upgrade and add it to your hand. Early game this helps us find our tech upgrades building our suit and hand size. Later game he can find Avenge Me which can immediately be played on Yellow Jacket.
Avenge Me is a 0 cost upgrade and lets you draw 2 cards when an ally is defeated. This includes consequential damage and alongside Command Team we can accelerate our allies uses to consistently draw cards. We can also chump block with allies if needed and still get that card draw.
Deck Strategy:
As outlined above we are wanting to get Iron Man set up with his tech upgrades as quickly as possible. Depending on what your turn one draw/Mulligan looks like you may stay in AE turn one to get another opportunity to find allies, avenge me or tech upgrades.
I like to flip to hero if I'm able to get at least 2 tech upgrades into play turn 1 or have a tech upgrade and an ally with avenge me on them.
I like to flip regularly especially when avoiding chump blocking in scenarios with overkill or something like Project Wideawake. This also allows you to take advantage of his Futurist ability and have a 7 card hand size flipping back to hero. With Avengers Mansion and Ingenuity in play we can have an a card hand size also with a resource generator.
The deck really gets going once you have a few tech upgrades in play and are able to consistently play allies which is achievable by turn 2 or 3 in most cases depending on card draw.
Use Avenge me on allies with 2 health or take double consequential and command team to play them and get the card draw all in 1 turn. Yellowjacket is the best for this as we can get 4 damage/thwart as well as draw the 2 cards and potentially get another avenge me from his ability.
The deck really manages threat extremely well as Arc Reactor lets Iron Man ready giving him the ability to thwart for 4 per turn. We also have 8 allies who have 2 thwart and with command teams we can get multiple activations.
Interactions:
One of my favorite interactions is putting Clarity of Purpose on Namora as she gets extra HP for each ally in play. Iron Man can struggle with health especially if Mark V Armor is not in play yet and getting the resource gen without taking damage can be helpful.
Others have already called it out but putting Avenge Me on Ronin gives him +1 to both attack and thwart making him 3/2. Command team accelerates his uses and gets you the card draw.
Ant-Man can be played for 1 resource and then given Avenge Me to get the card draw after his activation. This is really useful early game to cycle the deck and find our upgrades.
Evaluate Threat can find a number of cards for us including Avengers Mansion or Quincarrier. In total there are 16 cards that can be grabbed including finding Avenge Me if you really wanted to as it is an Avenger traited card.
The deck is pretty straightforward as we're getting Iron Man's suit built and then overwhelming scenarios with allies/card draw. The neat part about it is we are taking advantage of things like make the call or regroup. The deck burns so quickly that they are not really necessary.
Overall I have really enjoyed this deck, it has handled both the damage and threat removal in 2P games and solo. I'd love to hear any feedback or experiences with it!

Mar 12, 2026I have a question: isn’t it illegal to put Ant-Man and Yellowjacket in the same deck since they are both Hank Pym? |

Mar 12, 2026The titles are different but the subtitles are the same (which hasn't been explicitly covered in the rules reference). However, it does say, "A player cannot include more than one copy of each unique card (by title) in their deck. The identity card is included in this evaluation" Since the titles are different, they can be in the same deck. However, they probably can't be in play at the same time based on the phrasing of the Unique rule: "In the Marvel setting, it is possible for multiple people to bear the same title. (For example, more than one person can bear the title of “Captain America,” but there is only one Steve Rogers.)" There's only one Hank Pym, sometimes he's Ant-Man and sometimes he's Yellow Jacket, but can't be both at the same time. |
Looks like a ton of fun, and a great way to speed up Tony’s suit. Yellow Jacket some of my new favorite allies!
