Deck Description

This idea surely isn't new, but I'm using a character I have barely played to push myself and my deckbuilding. This episode of the Winning Hand is all about Ready for a Fight, so let's get to it!

Psylocke has natural synergy with Ready for a Fight on a few levels. First, since she can generate resources with her weapons, she can easily meet the resource requirement. She also has a 6/4 hand size (AE/hero), meaning she is incentivized more than most heroes to flip down. Finally, she has a lot of AE effects to trigger: she can shuffle Psionic cards into her deck using her Psi-Knife or Psi-Katana, and Training Regimen gets a Skill card into your hand without discarding a card from your hand. When she flips back to hero form, Moira MacTaggert will put another card into your hand.

Flipping down to alter-ego lets you recycle her psionic defense events to more efficiently kill minions when you flip back up. In theory, this should go something like this:

  • In hero form, play "Come Get Me, Bub!" to fetch a minion, heal up, and get a tough card;
  • Flip down to AE, recycle a Psionic card with your AE ability;
  • Draw up to 6 cards, trigger Ready for a Fight to avoid the scheme activation and flip to hero form;
  • Play Psychic Misdirection to redirect the villain attack to the minion in front of you, and since this counts as defending, you will take no damage and trigger Unflappable to draw a card, and then Change of Fortune to draw two more cards;
  • Start your turn with a full hand size, even if you spent three cards from hand to play Psychic Misdirection.

There is a lot of fun to be had, and I've enjoyed this deck quite a bit. Give it a try and let me know how it goes!

I honestly don't play Psylocke but this looks fun so I will give it a go!

Jan 06, 2026 boomguy · 11277

@Relaxingend42 Yes, I’m also new to Psylocke, that’s why I pushed myself to build with her. I’m trying to broaden my horizons. But I had a lot of fun with this build, and I hope you do too!

Timing on this episode is crazy. I started a She-Hulk RfaF deck last and finished it while watching! marvelcdb.com

Neat to see some of the changes between the episode recording and the published deck. I have also found Psychic Misdirection kind of difficult to and Powerful Punch is so good as a defense event

Jan 06, 2026 boomguy · 11277

@SoloMarvelChampion that’s insane timing!

@EDIT yeah, more plays led me to make some changes but I think it’s better overall now.

Digging the deck! Can't wait to listen to the episode.

Hey, I think i spotted a small error in your writeup. In the second paragraph, you say that you can use Training Regimen to get a Psionic card into your hand, but it can only be used to get Skill cards, and none of the skill cards in the deck have the Psionic trait. Even Psionic Training, which is a skill, but is mysteriously not Psionic.

Like how psychic misdirection combos with unflappable; didn't think of that @LACK OF SUBTLETY with what u said the only other cards are here three identity-specific upgrades. Kinda sucks but at least u get something? don't know otherwise what other skill cards there are that work here

Jan 07, 2026 boomguy · 11277

@D.M.Tip Thanks, I hope you enjoy it!

@LACK OF SUBTLETY good catch, thanks! Obviously what she can pull out is very limited. The only Skill cards are her own.

@fluffyseaotter yeah that’s a fun combo and feels so satisfying when you pull it off.

I played a similar deck prior to the release of Ready for a Fight. It is really fun. Bonus for bringing out Chimera, her Nemesis, and using Psychic Misdirect to attack for a bunch.

Another fun thing to do is build up all the boost cards on Venom and redirect his attack to a minion and overkill damage back onto Venom.

Jan 07, 2026 boomguy · 11277

@chrisrivers13 I love the idea of over killing back onto himself. But how do you get overkill?

Jan 07, 2026 serve_the_shark · 912

“Now We’re Angry?”

Jan 07, 2026 boomguy · 11277

@serve_the_shark that's a good call! I forgot about Venom having overkill on his own with "Now We're Angry!". I was thinking of how the hero would get overkill.

Love it! Psylockes the best

Jan 08, 2026 Rey Plays Games · 999

I agree...Psylocke rocks...she can be super powerful...or a slow burn with great control...

I've gotta try this out...!

Jan 08, 2026 boomguy · 11277

@Castlefrank47 I had a feeling you’d say that!

@Rey Plays Games I hope you do!

Jan 08, 2026 chrisrivers13 · 13

@boomguy When Venom gets overkill on his attack. On second thought, I don't think it would get the overkill effect since you are only redirecting the damage to the minion?

Jan 08, 2026 Excelsior! · 77

@chrisrivers13 I think it would. The overkill keyword is applied to the attack. Redirecting the damage is still damage from an attack with the overkill keyword.

Could you Please add my deck to the list? marvelcdb.com

Jan 08, 2026 boomguy · 11277

@NiemandSumpex I added it! Thanks for sharing a deck for the episode’s challenge!!

@chrisrivers13 @Excelsior! I’m not a rules expert by any means I would think it works? Since the initial attack has overkill. Then again, you aren’t redirecting the attack, just the damage.

Psionic has such cool cards in Protection and Ready for a Fight basically negates Psylocke's weakness of having a small hand size in hero form. Fun-looking deck -- I'll have to give it a try!

I've made a Nebula deck for this episode's challenge, designed to be played in multiplayer. You can find a heist-y deck, featuring Warpath shenanigans, here with Nebula's Eleven.

Brief aside: I thought in the episode I saw Psy-Flail Strike in the deck. If you don't mind my asking, why did you remove it? I imagine the card has fun synergy with RfaF. Flipping from AE into a stunned villain seems strong (and funny).

Jan 09, 2026 boomguy · 11277

@Enemy Bird I added it to the list! That’s a great question. More playtesting led me to make a few changes, and that was one. I just found Powerful Punch a little more effective at killing minions and triggering Unflappable.

Jan 09, 2026 Excelsior! · 77

@boomguy Here's one from the best hero in the game: Anything Wolverine can do...

Jan 09, 2026 boomguy · 11277

@Excelsior! But that’s not a Vision deck!

Jan 09, 2026 mv2392 · 136

42 cards!! I can't believe it's literally unplayable!?!

Jan 10, 2026 Semper Ludens · 286

I'm running a Champions game night at my FLGS and this will be the first deck that I play. I made a few minor tweaks: with the constant use of RfaF, I swapped White Widow for Northstar as she'll heal each time RfaF triggers. One or two copies of Practiced Plan is useful to keep RfaF out of the discard pile. And by flipping down so frequently, Hidden Base is helpful to gain a tough when "Come Get Me Bub" isn't around, and Dr. Sinclair would be more beneficial at removing a status card than White Queen, while the good doctor also heals damage.

Jan 10, 2026 boomguy · 11277

@mv2392 Boomguy is cooked

@Semper Ludens nice! Interested to hear how it works for you!

Another fun deck! Psylocke is one of my favourites as I have won all of her matches until the match I just played. This deck was great but just couldn't keep up with the minions I decided to pack the deck with: On The Run scenario with Hounds, Mutant Slayers, and Iron Spider's Sinister Six on standard3. Played 2 handed with Iceman (https://marvelcdb.com/decklist/view/40152/cool-for-the-summer-1.0#) but couldn't set up Iceman fast enough to make a difference. With 2-5 minions out each turn, the villain just kept scheming and no thwart events were in hand to keep it down. I will be definitely trying this again, perhaps less minions next time. I added The Power of the Mind to the deck which did help. I also put in Meditation but didn't use it, so won't include next time either.

Jan 11, 2026 Excelsior! · 77

@boomguy 17 community deck submissions and no Vision deck? Inconceivable!

marvelcdb.com

Jan 11, 2026 boomguy · 11277

@Excelsior! Glad someone finally did the right thing!!

@BlueRiver you could also try adding Hard to Ignore as a way to add some thwarting if you’re playing solo, or with a low heart teammate.

Jan 11, 2026 serve_the_shark · 912

Awesome deck! How do you add color to your deck description?

Jan 11, 2026 Swarles90 · 116

@boomguy Thanks for including my Ironheart deck :D

Jan 13, 2026 boomguy · 11277

@serve_the_shark if you message me on discord or send me an email, I’ll give you the secrets!

@Swarles90 Of course!
