I hate Mondays. Wait, is this a cross-over episode?
Tigra is here! Wait, is it Tee-gra or Tie-gra? This nine-year old youtube video could be a source of information or an abomination unto the lord, like spider-cats! Cat-spiders? ARe they cute or horrible demon-spawn? Who can say. Anyway, we're hosting the absolute ragenest Halloween party of the year, and everyone's invited. We're gonna watch Hocus Pocus. We're gonna eat a lot of green-colored food and play all the best hits like the Spooky Scary Skeleton 10 hrs mix. Maybe we'll argue about Tigra pronunciations, but anyway, here we go:
HOW TO PLAY THE DECK FOR PEOPLE WHO DON'T WANT TO READ
Play Web-Warriors. Stun stuff a lot. Draw lots of cards. Win.
HOW TO PLAY THE DECK FOR PEOPLE WHO CAN READ GOOD AND DO OTHER STUFF GOOD TOO
Play Web-Warriors. Stun stuff a lot. Draw lots of cards. Win.
Non-Spider Party People
Invites for everyone! You're invited too! Even the minions. Tigra's Alter-Ego Under Cover ability grabs a Hunted from your deck or discard, and this deck really revolves around this ability. First of all, it grabs any minion out of the deck and engages and stuns it, giving you one turn reprieve. In addition, when it's defeated, Tigra gets to ready. And that's not all! This night only! You also draw cards at the start of the player phase with her On the Hunt ability (up to 3). You like drawing cards? I love drawing cards. You're gonna draw a lot of cards. You like generating resources? I love generating resources too. Cat's Head Amulet is gonna get you so many resources.
You can also get more minions:
- Moon Knight: also stuns and confuses the minion it grabs.
- "Come Get Me, Bub!": also heals and gives you a tough.
The most important thing to remember though, no matter how the minion comes into play, either Moon Knight, "Come Get Me, Bub!", or Hunted, they are all put into play, so they won't trigger surge, any when revealed effects. etc., but they will trigger Quickstrike, if any (since it's an engagement trigger). Also, sadly Quickstrike triggers before Hunted (because the minion is put into play before having Hunted attached and being stunned).
Spider-Party People
-
Scarlet Spider: helps your other spider-party peoples party all night for a long night of trick-or-treating
-
Silk: grabs any troublesome treachery out of the deck. Advance you say?
Not To-THIS TIME. -
Spider-Byte: super cheap with Energy Barrier and Stun Gun (pew pew pew, zap, etc.)
-
Spider-Man: the only one that requires having another Web-Warrior card in play (remember that Web of Life and Destiny counts!), but it's so good. Readies your stun guns! or even your Cat's Head Amulet or Sharp Claws. You'll draw a card when readying your stun guns, but you could also get 3 more resources or some other fun stuff with your claws. Worth it in the deck despite the restriction.
-
Spider-UK: can defeat minions before hitting you if you have enough other spider-peoples (and Webs in play. Helpful if you've found you've bit off more than you can chew. Remember that Hunted readies no matter who defeats the attached minion, so you can even defend against the villain or another larger minion in the same phase.
-
Thwip Thwip!: pew pew pew! Stand on a rooftop and just shoot and see how far it goes. It's fun. Also really fun for stunning multiple minions to keep them hanging out for another round. Deals 1 damage to a web-warrior you control (sorry, no Web of Life and Destiny, gotsta be a spider-dude this time).
-
Web of Life and Destiny: finally gets its own entry. It's great! Draws you cards when various spider-peoples leave play (which you want for most of them except probably Spider-UK.
Party All Hallows Eve
The party goes on all night at Chez Nelson. In addition to our Hunteds and our Thwip thwips, we got Stun Guns too (not for children under the age of 13). We also have Feline Senses, which can stun (under certain conditions while also keeping threat under control). And another way of keeping us alive is Energy Barrier, which should be planned ahead of time because it can redirect damage to its attacker or to someone else. With three in play, you can redirect 3 damage from one attack and defeat other enemies who haven't yet activated. Also keep in mind that it prevents any damage, not just from attacks. Use them wisely, but one of the most fun uses of your stun barriers is to Repurpose them for a crazy turn of fun.
Keep in mind that Hunted minions lose guard. Also keep in mind that you keep your stat boosts for the whole round. Then remember that anything defeating an enemy readies you. With multiple Repurposes and multiply Hunted in play, an enemy with Retaliate, some of your fellow spider-people and some Teeth and Claws, leads to some very satisfying turns.

Excellent use of Thwip Thwip!! I feel like the second stun is wasted (or not particularly worth it) on a lot of other heroes, but it's great here.
