Overview

Damage: ★★★★★
Thwarting: ★★★☆☆
Survivability: ★★★★☆
Economy: ★★★★1/2
Reliability: ★★★★★
Early Game: ★★☆☆☆
Difficulty to play: ★★1/2☆☆

Note: I have only played a few 2 player games with her and she annihilates Vilains and enemies once set up. I'm still making tweaks, but I think the shell is likely consi

Main Strategy

This is somewhat of a combo deck, wherein you want to set up your board ASAP.

The core cards for your board are:

With this minimum board, you can do 15 (5x3) damage for 2 effective resources (ER). You can do this EVERY TURN by exhausting Ms Marvel to use her Morphogenetics ability.

Once you add Directed Force and Aggressive Energy into the equation, the damage is GOOD!

Special mention: Calculating the damage potential

Once you have 3 weapons on the board...

Consider prioritizing these cards too, in addition to your core board:

  • Aamir Khan allows you to recur these cards to the bottom of your deck, so that you can play them again.
  • Bruno Carrelli allows you to store these combo pieces until you're ready to go all out.
  • Champions Mobile Bunker digs you closer to those bottom cards, so that you can hit the big damage numbers sooner.

How to play the deck

Assemble the core board ASAP.

Set up for big turns.

Help to keep the board state clear.

  • While you're working on assembling your core board...

Stay alive by managing your health.

  • With a 5 REC, you can afford to take a hit or two.
  • Wiggle Room prevents 3 damage. It can be recurred into your hand via her Morphogenetics ability to be used either for another attack, or to block another 3 damage from the same attack (total of 6 prevented damage against 1 attack).

Flip down to AE often.

  • You have good Supports to capitalize on, and you can use Kamala Khan's Teen Spirit ability to dig for Embiggen!.
  • You have a 6 hand size in AE. More cards means you'll find your combo pieces faster.
  • You have a 5 REC.

Other potential cards

In my opinion, these are the 12 cards that form the core shell for this deck, excluding hero kit cards:

Because this is somewhat of a combo deck that strives to set up as quickly as possible, I encourage keeping a 40 cards deck.

That means that you have 13 flex cards to brew with. For this deck, my priorities are to improve the consistency and set up speed to be able to use Firepower every turn to clear minions and kill the Villain.

Everyone has their own priorities and preferences. So enjoy the freedom of doing what you wish with the 13 flex cards that you have available. :)

Allies:

  • I know that Allies are strong, however I don't find them necessary for Ms Marvel. Her 5 REC and Wiggle Room makes her quite resilient. If you want to include allies, I would suggest choosing cheap allies so that they don't interfere with your set up. Or selecting 1-2 allies that are high impact.

In my deck, I chose:

  • Deathlok because he tutors a weapon for Firepower, while also dealing 4 damage while he stays in play at 1 health. If necessary, you can use him to thwart for 2, attack for 2 damage, or chump block an attack. Note that defeating him means that you lose a weapon on the board for #firepower.
  • Professor X to confuse the Villain so that you can flip down to AE safely for a turn. And he also removes 3 threat, and can chump block an attack.

Resources:

  • You need to be able to pay for your set up cards as soon as you get them. That's why I'm playing double-resource cards.
  • The Power in All of Us is worth it because you have 9 targets. You draw through your deck quickly, so they won't sit in your hand. The wild symbol is also helpful to handle encounter cards that require specific resource(s) to be spent.
  • Aggressive Energy adds up to 3 damage to a Firepower attack. The wild symbol is also helpful to handle encounter cards that require specific resource(s) to be spent.

Note: You can attach a resource card to Bruno Carrelli for future use, thereby freeing up your hand when you redraw at the end of the player phase.

Thanks @boomguy! Love your content, on this site and on Youtube. Ms Marvel + Firepower has been a BLAST (literally) haha. Cheers.

Jolly good! Smashing! My wife is going to love this! (I design control, build-out, and tempo decks for her, and I can't get her interested. She just wants to start blastin' with big numbers)

I hadn't considered Firepower with Ms. Marvel yet... I want to try this with Keep Up the Pressure, Warrior Skill, and Sharpshooter too...

If Firepower is pulled back from Keep Up the Pressure with Embiggen! + 1 Directed Force (it is max 1 per attack) + 2 copies of Aggressive Energy + exhausting Warrior Skill + a double resource card from Sharpshooter , it becomes 39 damage (13x3) for 2ER.

It's nearly impossible to pull off, but would be a blast to try... Lol.

@Footballcoach Sounds like you're a complimentary play duo. :) If wants to blast with big numbers, then this deck should deliver.

@N1GHTCRAW73R The three cards you listed were on my radar when I started building the deck. Here are my reasons for not including them:

  • Keep Up the Pressure: You need to set up your board first to be able to pull off big numbers, so you're guaranteed to have a copy when you're ready to start blasting... either in hand or attached to Bruno Carrelli. If you're playing solo, 2 threat is easy to dish out. If you're playing with more players, I start to question the return-on-investment (ROI) of spending thwart to get a copy of Firepower when it's easy to get. And easy to keep in your hand for the entire game because you can recur it with Morphogenetics.
  • Warrior Skill: Definitely worth considering. Since this deck has some set up to do, I hesitate to add more set up cards. Maybe having 1-2 copies in your deck, and you put them into play on your second deck pass once your core board is set up is worth considering.
  • Sharpshooter: Same thought as Warrior Skill. Maybe something to put into play on the second deck pass.

Once you play the deck, let us know how it goes. Cheers.

whoever thought it was a good idea to give a teenager weapons was an absolute genius
