But... he's not X-Men...

He's definitely NOT X-MEN, and I can't even make him X-MEN with Honorary X-Men because I can't play that card... EXCEPT that I've built this deck for a Next Evolution run, and the first Side Scheme I'll go for in that campaign is Mission Prep, which gives me an Environment that allows me to search my deck and discard pile for an Upgrade costing 2 or less and put it into play. Of course that Upgrade will be Honorary X-Men!

So on the first turn of the first scenario I need an ally who thwarts for 2 so I can get Honorary X-Men:

Or, of course, I could just play Swing In!

This allows me to play some cards I'm not able to play without it:

Trait Synergies

Once I have the X-MEN trait Organizational Support and Team-Building Exercise work with 9 of my 10 of my allies, and of course Beast can find Organizational Support (or The Power in All of Us to make it easier to play Moon Girl or Spider-Man: Peter Parker).

Also, Spider-Man: Peter Parker with Honorary X-Men and Danger Room Training is a 3 THW 3 ATK 5HP ally who readies other WEB-WARRIOR characters and can be healed by Triage! If you don't mind going to 45 cards you can add 3 copies of Game Time too!

Is it worth it?

Maybe not, but I think it'll be fun!

Today I learned X-men is just a state of mind

Nice! I've wanted to craft a deck like this that relies on campaign rewards for a while now. Looks fun

Now X-Gene Miles I've seen before. But this is a more dedicated take I like!

@boomguy LOL

@HeroicSkeleton I was watching Beat Bobby Flay of ALL things last night when something was said which made me think of this build LOL. I'm not running a staple in all of my Leadership builds (Call for Backup) because Assemble the Team will be my second campaign Side Scheme!

@Theberg123 You could go GUARDIAN or AVENGER with this build too, but I really like what X-MEN gives me access to!

Fun idea to "play into the (known) campaign rewards".

As you ask? Is it worth it...maybe not, but it'll be fun.

YAY, PLAYING with your cards!!! You got my vote! :)

@Sluggie thanks! So my wife and I were watching Beat Bobby Flay last night and she said something like "he never makes the dish in the traditional way but always wins on flavor".

I said "OH!" and ran upstairs to build this deck (because Marvel Champions lives rent free in my mind). It's not a traditional build, but I think it's a flavor win LOL

Nice! I think it's very cool taking advantage of the campaign to allow you to break the usual rules and build a unique deck. :-)

@AbisMal Thanks! I did this once before to give Spectrum The Sorcerer Supreme, but that was just a gimmick. I went into this build with purpose LOL

I would have never EVER thought of doing this! That's so cool!
