I’m putting this deck up a couple days after the announcement that Shuri was coming to us as a hero in the next wave. I couldn’t wait a couple months to play her, so I put together a deck with the intention of playing Shuri as many times as I can. It’s a pretty simple one.
Mulligan Priorities:
- Stuff that gets our economy going (The Golden City, Quincarrier, Vibranium, Clarity of Purpose)
- Shuri and Black Panther Upgrades to get the game going
- Suit Up
Early Game:
With a handful of cards T'Challa can be Scrooge McDucking his way through your deck. We have a handful of cards that will super charge your turns with lots of options and the economy of a small, but technologically advanced country.
Playing Solo with his Vibranium Suit I really like using Clarity of Purpose to help pay for stuff since Wakanda Forever! lets you transfer that damage to an enemy. I’ll usually go for that during the setup phase. In multiplayer I will fetch whichever upgrade feels the most useful based on team composition.
Focus on getting your card draw engine going along with playing the cards you need to help pay for your other tools and allies.
Mid-Game and Finishing the Game:
With a deck put together like this one, once you get set up your strategies aren’t gonna change much. Play the allies you need in the moment and drop a Wakanda Forever! whenever you get one in your hand. Adam Warlock and Vision are gonna be your heavy hitters. Vision can get a boost by just exhausting your Quincarrier and Adam Warlock has a solid spread of resources so you can play cards until you have the cards you don’t mind discarding for him. Rapid Response is there early on to let you block with Shuri and get to tutor an upgrade early, but later in the game it will let you maintain a good board presence. Just keep drawing cards and moving the game forward in bursts from Wakanda Forever and the villain will fall soon enough.
I really like clarity of purpose with black panther. Great combo!
