This deck tries to lean into what Adam Warlock is "supposed" to do, which is milling for aspect cards when triggering his superpower cards. It took me some time to find a formula that works to keep high density of aspect cards without losing too much efficiency. We can't use basic allies or events, and that is something to consider. We have to go the 50 cards deck route, and that is another tough pill to swallow in a singleton deck. But that is a puzzle I found interesting to solve, and, on the upside, having a fat deck, means having a huge graveyard always avaible for recursion cards, such as Quantum Magic and Make the Call

Disclaimer:

I defeated many scenarios from the first 4 waves on solo play in expert difficulty with it, but some villains took me a few tries, and never less than 9 turns. I never tested it against Loki, or Thanos, let alone Ronan lol. The deck can struggle on high pressure scenario if early game is too rough, but I guess it is intrinsic weakness of the concept of the deck. For reference, I have built a janky Venom Leadership deck that is more consistent, easier to stabilize and faster to win lol. This deck is not about power or efficiency, let alone speed. It is more about brain challenge/puzzle than anything. With this out of the way. Let's dive into it

Concept:

7 Army -> 7 cards per aspect, mostly event/allies. 7 basic cards, all upgrades/supports, beside resources.

The deck wants to:

  1. use allies to deal damage and control the board.
  2. use events or battle mage justice ability to remove threat.
  3. use battle mage protection ability to heal your army.
  4. use hero activation to ping tough, or remove threat.
  5. put High Priority Setup on first deck pass.

Money vs Cost Curve:

The deck has access to the power of agression and protection, on top of the 3 universal double in order to pay for the expensive red/green cards it features. They are mostly allies, and we do have "Welcome Aboard" to help playing them.. We also have many 0-1 cost leadership/justice/basic cards, and very few 0-1 cost cards in agression/protection. Exceptions being the Mystic Aspect Spells because they are very powerful at any stage of the game. With that in mind, we need to ramp fast with High Priority Setup cards -see below-

Setup Priority:

  1. The Sorcerer Supreme, Karmic Staff, and 1st Mystic Sense are High Priority Setup.
  2. Deft Focus, 2nd Mystic Sense and Warlock's Cape are Mid Priority Setup.
  3. Soul World is high variance, depending on first few turns of a game. Sometime it is Very Low PS, sometime is Very High PS.

Quantum Magic: Don't be affraid to use it to fish for a High PS card if you have a universal double in your hand. Setting up is crucial. It can also be a good idea to use Quantum Magic if you have a Power of Aggression/Protection to bring an ally in play.

The Key Allies:

She-Hulk is central. Adam is very bad at killing people, and that girl is the exact opposite. She might thwarts for 2 on first activation, so she can starts kicking butt asap. All ally upgrades are idealy put on her, but there is a pitfall to avoid. Sometime it is much clever to put one of them on Luke Cage or Martyr, if She-Hulk is not here yet. Flexibility is key, and early game can be tough if you don't adapt to the situation.

Martyr was initially Tigra. But with extensive testing, I figured out she was much better than her in this deck. They do the same work, which is clearing the board; in minions heavy scenarios, but she also has the possibility to block with her tough, while Tigra is just too narrow focused. If you are playing a minions light scenario, she is no priority ofc.

Clea is meant to be shuffle back in the deck to improve milling superpowers efficiency, and Deft Focus reduce the cost of superpowers.

Starhawk is very versatile. He can attack, then thwart to jump back to either heal She-Hulk or Martyr or other allies if needed. The guy helps with consistency which is what highlander/singleton deck lacks.

Spider-Girl is great at buying time in early game by locking out a minion, which is what Adam needs to build his mystic sense, sorcerer supreme, karmic staff board. And mid to late game, she is just cheap damage/blocker, that can even thwart. Amazing.

Thor is another very key ally that can just block with tough, or clear the board of minions by exhausting your karmic staff or pitching a lightning card, which you have quite a lot. He helps with immediate impact early to mid game, and was a great addition for stabilizing. This said, you might prefer Valkyrie against some scenarios for even higher tempo.

The Defenders:

Beside Clea, the deck relies heavily on Toughness: Throg, Martyr, Thor, Luke Cage and Pip the Troll to help you defend and build your board. But don't be affraid to lose the tough to attack a minion, if you have other allies in play to defend. Greed is not always healthy.

I don't own Polaris but she would be striclty better than Luke Cage IMO. They essentially do the same thing. Block with their tough if able, and/or attack for 2. But she is cheaper, and can reach her last HP faster, which is great for getting back into the deck for milling effect or Summoning Spell.

The Basic Cards:

The Sorcerer Supreme is key priority: always play it on first pass. Use Quantum Magic if milled.

Every other basic cards are very cheap and are meant to leave the deck so that you have maximum aspect density for triggering superpower on second pass. This is why Knowhere is not in the deck anymore. However, if you increase the number of ally to 10, it might be a good idea to put it back in the deck to increase ally limit, and maybe draw an extra card with Starhawk. To me, "2 cost -> do nothing" is too expensive for high pressure villain.

Deft Focus is very valuable for its cost, but not as high priority compare to 1st Mystic Sense and Karmic Staff. If you really need to deal with the board, deal with it.

Honorary Guardian can be played for 0, either on Adam, Luke or Martyr... but if you can land it on She-Hulk, that is now a +1ATK +1HP for her, which is very strong.

Sidearm is cheap, and is not mandatory for the deck to work, but very handy against retaliate. It was on the 1st version of the deck, then was removed for Spiritual Meditation , then came back. Maybe there is a better 1 cost basic to put in the deck, but I don't see what. Of course, it can be landed on She-hulk, but Martyr or Luke Cage can be clever choice. Keep the board state in mind.

Spiritual Meditation is not in the deck, and it might seems offensive, but we are talking about a "1 of" in a 50 cards deck. It is nowhere near the efficiency of Dr Strange or Scarlett Witch. Feel free to add it instead of Sidearm.

Aggression:

Mostly Allies, the core of the Army. Nonetheless, the deck features two attack events that can help clear minions early. Relentless Assault has been added for that purpose. If you are not playing high pressure scenario, you can put Boot Camp back instead. It is slower, mostly played on second pass, but very impactful.

Justice:

Mostly good stuff, cheap confuse/damage/threat removal. Skilled investigator is meant to protect your expansive board from caught off guard and other hate effect. There is no ally in that color because we do not have money for them, but we do have Chance Encounter to bring ally from anywhere to the party. This situational card can be pitched to battle mage or to Thor's ability.

Protection:

Energy Barrier initially was Tackle. I can see an argument for removing it, and putting a protection ally instead, or even Defiance. And I might agree. I rarely used tackle, it was just useful to stun from time to time but steady/stalwart is a thing. Energy barrier is easier to afford, lightning for Thor but it is more often than not a "heal an ally card"

Shield Spell It is a 0 cost green card which is terrible for power of protection. But this card saved me so much time that I can't remove it from the deck. It is that good.

Leadership:

Summoning Spell is a bit expensive for the deck, especially if you hit a 2 coster. But let me tell you that bringing Martyr, She-Hulk, Thor, or even Luke Cage for cheap is bonker. Just keep an eye on your discard pile before playing it. It is double edge sword, I admit.

Make the Call and "Welcome Aboard" are mandatory for the very concept of the deck which is to bring allies into play to cover early game, to progress during mid game, and to conclude late game, lol!

The Triskelion It took me time to understand that this 1 cost support provided more value than any other 1 cost ally upgrade I could put in this deck. This is due to density of allies, and density of toughness. Really mandatory for the deck IMO, but not a priority card on first pass.

Reinforced Suit to turn She-Hulk into a beast. You rarely want to give it to anyone else in the deck. If she's in play, just stick it to her. It is almost a win-condition on its own. Anecdote: I putted it once on Thor against minions swarm Zola. It was funny with Adam healing factor, and Team Training.

Team Training This card is not a priority and I can see argument to remove it from the deck: "2 cost -> do nothing, in an already long setup kit with no power of leadership". And that is very true. You can replace it by Power Gloves or Inspired for maintaining cheap cost curve. But if you find tempo to land Team Training, it really cranks up she-hulk, martyr, and starhawk to eleven. But more on that in the next paragraph.

Get Ready. It took me time to understand that this card was requiered for this deck to function, and it really makes a difference. Why not a power glove for She-hulk? Why not inspired? The answer is multiple fold. It is 0 cost, and can be fished with quantum magic for 1. It will make She-Hulk activate twice. We are talking about 6-8 extra damage to conclude the game here. It can also help Luke Cage to spend his huge life pool faster, and this blue card get back into the deck for milling superpower effect. Moreover, If Team Training is in play, it will make Throg, Spider-Girl, or Clea activate twice before chump blocking, and in the case of Starhawk, he can attack twice and jump back for more. This is cheap tempo from mid game and onward, and this is really what Adam lacks: tempo.

And that's it, that is the deck. Hope you enjoy it, and feel free to improve it. When it comes to solo expert mode play, I really like the puzzle that provides multi-aspect heroes such as Adam.

Nice. I'm working on a list that shares some DNA with this. Similar allies, but also Energy Spear and Laser Blaster and Comms Implant plus an Honorary Guardian so that I can go all-eggs-one-basket when I'm playing 2-handed with another Voltron deck :)

I actually agree that Voltron decks work amazingly better if both players run them because they have a target for their ally upgrades much sooner, and much steadily.

This said, VillainTheory suggest me a little switcharoo for my 7th army deck, and after few games, it makes great difference. Swap Deft Focus -> for Clarity of purpose. Swap Triskelion -> for Knowhere. It increase slightly the cost curve, but you ramp much faster, and help you stabilize.
