Made for Solo Champion League Season 15, Round 2: Vs. Master Mold + Mystique + Sentinels (Standard).

Decided to try an all basic round this time, since I've wanted to do one for a while! Actually performed pretty well (with a little luck, and some aggressive mulligans), got 2 games done with clean boards in 6 turns, and final game in 12 turns with a clean board.

I mulliganed very aggressively for Iron Will or Titanium Muscles. Either (or both if you get really lucky) help Colossus really get online, and let him play in Hero form more effectively. Some of the allies are pretty expensive, and turns can feel really awkward without the extra resources.

Allies are largely just good value, with all the basic X-Men for Utopia triggers. Having chump blockers to keep a tough status around for an extra round or 2 is also really helpful.

  • Angel is just a cheap ally that can help set up minions for Magneto, or to just break tough.
  • Blade is really nice. Cheap and effective since there tends be a decent amount of holding cards that don't do much when mostly set-up. There's a lot of physical resources to go around, so he can activate decently often.
  • Forge just grabs X-Jet and Utopia. I felt X-Jet was more important to grab, and Utopia probably isn't necessary in the deck anyways, but refreshing Colossus is always nice.
  • Ironheart is a cheap chump blocker, that breaks tough easily, and draws a card.
  • Longshot could probably go, with only 6 cards in the whole villain deck using his ability, but some extra threat removal isn't bad.
  • Machine Man could also probably go. I just felt I had a lot of resources sitting around in testing, and decided to leave him in for that reason.
  • Nick Fury is Nick Fury.
  • Professor X is Professor X. Though, less impactful due to Mold having Stalwart, but he can still stun a minion, or ready Colussus.
  • Spider-Man is just good value.
  • Storm could probably also go, pretty expensive at 4, and the schemes are small. But X-Men for Utopia, and 2/2 stats are nice.
  • Vivian helps A LOT with blanking the side schemes from pulling in more minions, or largely nullifying attachments.
  • War Machine is just a value pick, but a little expensive. 2/2 stats with a tough is nice though.

  • First Aid is honestly here just to keep Magneto around longer. But in a pinch can heal any ally or yourself.
  • Invulnerability helps maintain tough statuses, and is a Superpower
  • Limitless Stamina is just really easy readying for Colussus, and is a Superpower.

  • All of the resource cards, because all basic

  • The X-Jet for more resources, and Utopia to ready Colussus multiple times.
  • Deft Focus because basically all of the Colussus cards are Superpowers, plus Invulnerability and Limitless Stamina!
  • And Plan B just helped break tough if I had an extra card in hand, or needed a little extra damage. With all the resources being generated between everything, you tend to play most of the cards you need to, so the extra 2 damage every turn can help keep things moving!

This could 100% be a better list if I gave it a bit more time, but it did well enough that I'm happy with it. Several cards could probably be removed or replaced, but I'm happy with how the games went!
