This might be the very first Protection deck I genuinely enjoy playing, mainly due to Quicksilver's Super Speed ability.

I can finally defend and ready straight away (without having to pack Indomitable or spend 1 resource with Desperate Defense for the same effect). Even in those remote occasions where you end exhausted in the villain phase, all the ready effects still allow Quicksilver to have a "normal" player's turn where you can still attack enemies or thwart. The turns still feel meaningful, instead of just playing cards to prepare for the villain phase (which was most of my experiences with other protections builds, with very few exceptions).

You want to have either Friction Resistance and/or Quincarrier in play ASAP as they will give the so necessary discounts to both, playing your stat boosts cards during the player's turn, and playing those defense events during the villain's phase.

Since all the Protection cards in the deck are 0 or 1 cost, I decided to just use Basic allies and pack 1x The Power in All of Us that helps to play for those allies, Quincarrier, and the recently "rejuvenated" Tenacity :P that combos quite well with Friction Resistance.

Never Back Down, one of the new cards, is amazing, creating scenarios where I end up defending for the first player using it and stunning the enemy, followed by an attack on me, which is just cancelled by the stun. And "I'm still standing" and laughing in the villain's face ahahaha! :D

Some of the defense combos become even better when you have Scarlet Witch around (the hero, not the ally) to help you guarantee you're not taking damage by using her ability or her Crest.

It's been incredibly fun to play so far, and I'm looking forward to refine it even more after some more play-throughs.
