A superpowered movie star has got to have superpowered stunt doubles, right? And who's better for the job than Multiple Man?
Warpath has also been training "Mr. Hollywood" in combat techniques to catch opponents off guard and trigger a Change of Fortune...
Overview
This is a deck focused on toughening up the 1-3 copies of Multiple Man and Warpath with Serve and Protect. With the toughs, the Multiple Men provide standard blocking and Warpath provides blocking and opens a path for defeating minions during the villain phase to trigger Change of Fortune.
Key Setup Cards
Children of the Atom is required to make Serve and Protect and Mutant Mayhem work with Multiple Man. So there's 3 copies for redundancy. The extras still work well as resources.
When Children of the Atom is in play, Utopia allows all 3 Multiple Men and Warpath to be in play at the same time. You might need to let 1 of the Multiple Men leave play to make room for Warpath before you have Utopia.
Signature Sunglasses and Wonder Fans help retrieve and recur events.
Ready for a Fight to flip from alter-ego when an enemy schemes and grabbing a tucked event with Signature Sunglasses is a key enabler of the combos in this deck. That's why there's 3 copies of it and Practiced Plan.
Quincarrier enables consistent playing of Ready for a Fight.
Change of Fortune lets you draw 2 cards after defeating a minion by playing Ionic Blast or Starstruck during the villain phase after Warpath defends.
Hangar Bay allows an ally (usually Warpath) to ready after defending with a tough to exhaust for a new tough card with Serve and Protect or use a basic action in the player phase.
The Events
Observe enables consistency for villain scheming in hero form so you can cancel it with Serve and Protect and replenish toughs on your allies.
Mutant Mayhem can bring back lost double(s) of Multiple Man after a deck reset and heal Warpath and give him a tough.
Serve and Protect is typically meant to be played when the villain schemes, but remember you can also play it when threat is placed at the start of the villain phase (this might actually be preferred in higher player counts / high acceleration situations which might be more than the villain schemes for) especially if you need to get the ally tough engine going.
Ionic Physiology Tucking Considerations
Observe is good to have tucked when you have the allies set up so you can pull it with Signature Sunglasses when you get a Serve and Protect.
Having at least 1 attack card tucked is also good to have one ready for triggering Change of Fortune.
A copy of Active Altruism is nice to have to retrieve when more thwarting is needed.
Other Thoughts
Villains with piercing are definitely a bad matchup for this deck with toughs being the primary means of protection here.
Quincarrier is the only target for Evaluate Threat. It can be replaced with Build Support if you don't want to risk it being a dead card if Quincarrier is played first or when playing multiplayer where Avenger / S.H.I.E.L.D. cards aren't useful for other heroes.
