Southern Discomfort
You can't touch me. I can touch you.
Retaliate from Ronin turns Rogue's identity events into monsters. In multiplayer, Southern Cross and Goin' Rogue hit all three kickers: 8 damage, a card and a stun for 3; or 5 thwart, a card and a confuse for 2.Superpower Adaptation recycles them, or recycles Energy Transfer for readies that keep working in solo.
And it does work in solo. This deck beat Magneto and Ultron consistently on Expert. Touch Vivian or Starhawk and you're aerial for the turn, plenty of time to sacrifice them, turn Ronin back on, and Energy Transfer the Touched onto the villain the same turn.
It's a slow burner. Expect to win around turn 10, by which point you're drawing 9–12 cards and getting a Tough every turn.

Solitude
- Ronin is what upgrades the identity events into stuns and confuses. It doesn't need to be online every turn — a few turns of it is enough. Meanwhile Touched can camp on a teammate's identity.
- Starhawk is the solo trick: touch him, bounce him back to hand, and you're aerial for the turn while controlling no allies. Two kickers, solo.
- Vivian doesn't blank traits, so Aerial is still there for the stealing — off the occasional minion, or off the villain.
- Specialized Training grabs the thwart specialty and pushes Rogue to 3–4 THW, which is where she needs to be to hold the scenario.
- Hidden Base) feeds you Toughs to eat the villain's best turns.
- Establish Perimeter is a strong tempo play in solo and fits well with the spirit of control.
Silence
- Southern Cross, Return the Favor and basic activations do the real damage.
- Army of One is 3 damage for 2 — very sweet rate for Protection.
- Stepford Cuckoos are what make Return the Favor reliable: clear the nasty surprises early, then lean on it late without fearing a game-ending advance.
- Ready for a Fight is your fuse. Hold it for the advance that would otherwise end things. or to find back tempo when you have a bit of thwart pressure.
Stack
- X-Bunker, Moira MacTaggert, X-Gene, Deft Focus and The X-Jet are the economy backbone. When flipping down, use the X-Bunker twice to hit all the cards you want.
- Mutant Education wants Superpower Adaptation, as it can turn into whatever is already in your discard pile. That way, I quite often hit 2 to 3 southern cross on the second deck rotation.
- Build Support is a classic in a deck this support-heavy and put X-Bunker online.
