Cyclops has it Under Control...okay, a little Defensive

Cyclops is here to keep damage off of his X-Men allies.

Stronger Together can prevent consequential damage. Ops Room removes threat while reducing damage from an attack, including on Cyclops himself.

Pinned Down reduces a minion's ATK stat; or he can defend an ATK from a minion with Under Control attached to deal damage to it. Even if it only weakens the minion, Cyclops' Optic Blast can finish it off. Full Blast would deliver overkill damage onto the villain. Come Get Me Bub brings a minion into play while healing Cyclops and giving a tough status card for an easy defense.

Attach Honorary X-Men to the hero so that, when in alter-ego, Scott Summers can use the X-Jet and leave the ally limit increase from Utopia turned on.

Defensive Stance is also a tactic that Constant Training can find. Leave it in play until needed. It prevents damage on Cyclops even when he doesn't defend.
