Ready for Avengers Academy

In the wake of the 2008–2009 "Dark Reign" storyline, it was discovered that Norman Osborn had manipulated several young super-powered people for his own purposes. Six of these teens are placed in a program called the Avengers Academy located in the Infinite Avengers Mansion, headed by Hank Pym, with Tigra, Justice, Speedball, and Quicksilver as teachers.

After the "Fear Itself" storyline, as new students arrive at the academy, the original students fear that they are being replaced. After a confrontation with the faculty and other members of the Avengers, Captain America puts their fears to rest. Quicksilver discovers the body of Jocasta who appears to have been killed inside the academy during the commotion. Hank Pym invites the X-Men to the Academy to help investigate Jocasta's murder.

X-23 joins Avengers Academy!

Who better to train up X-23 than Captain "I Can Do This All Day" and his Sidekick Quicksilver. Rounding out the orientation team are Ant-Man: Hank Pym, Hawkeye: Clint Barton, Thor, and White Tiger. Everybody ready? Let's go!

X-23 becomes an Honorary Avenger, with another copy to place on Cap so that Mighty Avengers stays online when Steve goes to check out his apartment. While in alter-ego, Leadership Training shuffle a blue event into the deck. Also, Living Legend reduces the cost of an ally played from Med Lab. Avengers Compound holds another ally until an opportune time. Team Training gives them all +1hp.

Inspiring Presence heals 1hp and readies an ally. Avengers Assemble readies everyone, including Cap, and buffs their stats. Mission Leader draws a card when a side scheme is defeated, including the player side schemes: Build Support, Call for Backup, Rally the Troops. When Thor thwarts, he brings a minion into play for X-23 to attack and then ready to attack again. His thwart can usually clear a side scheme.

Sidekicking Quicksilver here is very satisfying. Since Cap can discard a card to ready and Pietro's ally ability gives him an additional ready to toggle himself, there's almost never a moment when the conditions to play Side-By-Side can't be met. When fully built out, Super-Soldier Serum provides resources so that both Avengers Assemble and Side-By-Side can be played in the same turn, usually with card draw from Mission Leader or a double in hand.
