”A History of Violence” (1997)

Card Drawing: ★★☆☆☆

Deck Description

The key component of this deck is Directed Force. In order to take advantage of it, we need to have keywords when attacking as often as possible. Each of these attacks can make use of Directed Force:

We also have other ways to increase damage output:

  • Cybernetic Arm increases damage on attack events by +1;
  • Winter Rifle adds +2 ATK when using a basic attack;
  • Warrior Skill increases damage by +1 when you attack;
  • Sharpshooter discards the top card of your deck and increases damage by the number of icons (most often +1) when using a ranged attack. Note: Both Firepower and basic attacks with Winter Rifle meet this requirement!

Other tidbits:

Bucky has access to two team-up cards. either or both could be included, depending on other players at the table, or how big you want the deck to be:

Awesome deck! Aggressive Stance is always handy for Bucky as you can also recur Arm Block to protect yourself in the villain phase...always love including Directed Force i a deck....and this is RIF(L)E with opportunity!

@Rey Plays Games Directed Force has so much synergy in this deck, it’s great!

I didnt saw the Sharpshooter coming, but Directed Force but didnt with Directed Force.

Good calls!

its great when im writting and my brain got a hiccup mid prhasing. Sorry for the upper commentary. What I was willing to say is that Directed Force and Sharpshooter can fit Winter Soldier better than I ever expected. Its synergies all around!

@matchet Yes, it has some fun synergies and there are a lot of combos throughout the deck. In my games with it, I always had flexibility turn to turn and choices. It’s been really fun!

This deck looks phenomenal and one that I want to try soon. I've been doing some less aggressive stuff with Bucky since release, but I think it's time to bring home the firepower.

@D.M.Tip Give it a try! Firepower is such a great card imo. This is my first stab at Bucky in Aggression, I’ve also been playing him in other aspects. But this came together so well and has been a ton of fun.

Fire power + directed force + sharpshooter = OP Combo !

Dec 30, 2025 boomguy · 11277

@TheWolf’sDenOfChampions Yes! It’s so good. And if you pay for Firepower with Cybernetic Arm it’s even more!

Just want to make sure I understand this interaction.

If you play Directed Force as an interrupt on Firepower, it's dealing 5 damage per weapon you exhaust?

Dec 31, 2025 boomguy · 11277

@EDIT That’s right. If you discard a card via Sharpshooter, it’s 6; of you pay with Cybernetic Arm, it’s 7 per weapon you exhaust. And you could play multiples of Directed Force in the same window, boosting it further!

@boomguy - Directed Force says "max 1 per attack"

Jan 09, 2026 boomguy · 11277

@RedWolfe you are right! I misspoke in the comments above. You can’t play more than one Directed Force per attack.

@boomguy I haven't read the graphic novel! Ill have to check that out
