Hulkling is the Superior Hulk
This is a custom deckbuild request from my channel member, Sean!
Superior Hulk versus Expert Magneto Deck Showcase
Shapeshifting into Hulk Shape
Hulkling wants to be Hulk because Hulk is cool. If you're playing a scenario with side schemes (like Magneto, Hela, Apocalypse I) I would recommend starting in Winged Shape to remove the threat. But after that, change into to Hulk Shape and stay in that form because we're trying to be Hulk. So no more shapeshifting.
Hulk Smash!
With Aggressive Conditioning and Combat Training, Hulk can get up to 5 ATK and 16 hit points. Make a basic attack with Skilled Strike to swing for 7 and exhaust Hulk Shape to trigger its event-tied response to do 2 more damage. We also have attack events like Clobber and Drop Kick for more damage. Focus on playing these events first before playing Shapeshifter Strike because the Shapeshifter Strike can ready up Hulk Shape before it fully resolves to proc Hulk Shape's 2 damage again.
Resource Management
This deck has the option to build out with resource generators like Avengers Mansion, Helicarrier, and Quincarrier. But since we have 7 double resources (Energy, Genius, Strength, and the 4 Shapeshift Upgrades) it's pretty easy to just play whatever attacks that are in hand when they're drawn. The choice is yours how to play this deck!
Face the Past
Woah why is Super Skrull attacking Hulk?! Face the Past is one of my favorite cards for Hulkling, especially if he goes Hulk Shape because Face the Past is an event that will trigger the response from Hulk Shape to hit Super Skrull for 2 AND ready Hulkling to immediately swing for 3, finishing off the nemesis swiftly and easily.
Can't say I'm not sad that Hulking is basically, indeed, a better Hulk, but hey now at least I can squint and pretend I'm playing the original Hulk ;-;
