Introduction
The goal of this deck is to get the most out of Wasp's natural potential in Leadership.
There are several compatible archetypes, combos, and staples for Wasp and we're smashing them all into a single deck. This gives us a lot of resiliency as we're not reliant on any particular gimmick.
Overview
We're gonna flip a lot and we want a ton of mental cards.
Since we're incentivized to run mental cards for our alter-ego ability, we're doubling down with Moon Girl. Moon Girl is so efficient we're happy to Suit Up to find her.
Meanwhile, Scott Lang is a pretty solid Sidekick target, which also synergizes with Suit Up. He naturally has an ATK or THW of 3 depending on Wasp's mode. He's lacking in the HP department, but that's exactly what Sidekick is for! And hey, we're already going to flip down to AE, so we might as well REC. Every time we REC, we are also getting 2 more uses out of Scott for up to 6 total attack/thwart. We can also slap Inspired for him to make that 8 total attack/thwart per REC at a rate of 4/turn. Not bad!
That's the basic idea, and the rest is just really strong staples that meet our requirements.
Allies
We're literally just out here grinding numbers. Using rough approximations:
- Moon Girl: 3 ER value for 1 ER net cost.
- Maria Hill: 3 ER value for 2 ER net cost (and other players draw).
- Nick Fury: 3 ER value for 2 ER net cost.
- Professor X: 5.5 ER value for 4 ER cost.
- Beast: 4 ER value for 3 or 2 ER net cost.
- Ironheart: 2.5 ER value for 2 ER net cost.
Note that all of these estimations assume blocking with the last HP for a value of 2ER. (If we can't chump block, we are still hitting baseline efficiency with all but Ironheart.)
Events
- Face the Past is crazy for us. Beetle is one of the weakest villains in the game and literally makes the encounter deck weaker.
- Side-by-Side is the bonus payoff for Sidekick. It's pretty solid once we're set up, but it's literally a dead card early (and not mental) so we don't need 3.
- Suit Up helps us find Scott, Moon Girl, Sidekick, Inspired, or whatever else we need.
Resources
- We're happy taking the doubles (especially Genius).
- Band Together eventually makes Beast even stronger.
- Power in All of Us has enough targets, including Moon Girl.
Supports
- Avengers Mansion helps take advantage of the excess resources.
- Crew Quarters is our sustain boost of choice since we flip frequently.
- Quincarrier helps hit Moon Girl's mental requirement.
Upgrade
- Clarity of Purpose has synergy with Bio-Synthetic Wings. The second copy is a target for Suit Up to pay for Moon Girl.
- Ingenuity is a must.
- Inspired goes on our Sidekick, Scott.
- Sidekick is core.
Sideboard
- Bring 1x Sidearm against retaliate (for our Sidekick).
Special mentions
- I tried Grant Ward, and he's OK since we have abundant mental resources to keep him afloat. The problem is he just puts out numbers, and we can already put out numbers.
- Make the Call and Rapid Response can recur some of our allies, but notably don't work on Moon Girl.
- Swarm Tactics isn't that great for Wasp; she generally wants to stay in giant form, but it kicks her out. It lets us ready before flipping down, but otherwise it's pretty awkward.
- Ant-Man (Hank) is pretty versatile, but he just can't hang with the rest of these allies since he's always at the standard rate.
