Introduction

This deck is designed to do what Thor does best: Summon a ton of minions and slay them all. To get the best experience with this deck, bring it to a scenario with a lot of minions. Minions with 3 HP or less are particularly ideal.

This deck focuses on the new Aerial Leadership archetype, which works well with other Thor staples like Squared Off and Limitless Stamina.

Gameplay notes

Our general plan is pretty simple:

  • Play Mjolnir to become Aerial.
  • Play Aerial allies.
  • Use Aero and Cloud 9 to buff our army. Command Team, Flight Squadron, and Falcon allow us to ready them repeatedly.
  • Use Air Supremacy to nuke minions.

In addition, we generally want to trigger "Have at thee!" every phase if possible. Defender of the Nine Realms, Squared Off, and Hugin & Munin give us many opportunities to do so.

Core cards

Leadership offers some notable cards that are especially potent for Thor.

  • Hugin & Munin is the latest way to help Thor proc "Have at thee!" and notably features Aerial and Asgard traits.
  • Squared Off allows us to proc "Have at thee!" and play a discounted ally. To consistently get the benefit, we'll need a healthy number of allies.
  • Air Supremacy lets us clean up our own messes efficiently, especially with Mjolnir in hand.
  • Flight Squadron lets us squeeze extra value out of an all-aerial army.

Allies

We want to see an ally every turn so we can build a wide board. To maximize value and consistency from Squared Off, 3-cost is the sweet spot. We also require all allies to be Aerial to meet Flight Squadron's requirement.

  • Adam Warlock can do it all with a little planning.
  • Aero and Cloud 9 check all of our boxes.
  • Falcon has synergy with Cloud 9.
  • Hugin & Munin is core.
  • Sunspot has synergy with our ability to generate energy resources.
  • Pixie and Angel help us get high ally density. Angel gives Pixie a potential target.

Events

  • Air Supremacy is core.
  • Limitless Stamina combos with Aero and Cloud 9 and/or allows us to take advantage of our 4 REC.
  • Squared Off is core, although we're only running 2 copies because it competes with Defender of the Nine Realms and Hugin & Munin for our "Have at thee!" ability.

Resources

  • We're only bringing the basic doubles.

Supports

  • Flight Squadron is core.
  • Command Team allows us to get extra buffs and/or activations from our army. Think of it as 3 copies of Get Ready packed into a single card.
  • Team Training gets extra value out of our numerous allies.
  • Team-Building Exercise works with our Aerial and Asgardian cards.
  • Crew Quarters is our healing card of choice, although Down Time is also a contender.

Sideboard

  • Drop Unshakable if it's irrelevant.
  • Add Godlike Stamina if you need more stun/confuse protection.
  • Adjust the Squared Off count based on the scenario's minions.

Special mentions

  • Clarity of Purpose takes advantage of our extra HP and above-average REC, but seems a bit excessive once we get our other generators going.
  • We're skipping Quincarrier and Helicarrier because God of Thunder and Team-Building Exercise are more efficient and sufficiently consistent.
  • The Power of Flight has enough targets, but mana flooding is a major concern with our limited hand size.
