Why Toe to Toe with Cyclops?

The best reason is the allies he has access to from across the X-Men spectrum. Iceman and Mirage can stun minions, Polaris and Armor can protect you with Toughs, Northstar can wipe out boost icons, and of course Nightcrawler can stop any damage!

Blindfold and Gambit will help you peek into the encounter deck to find a low boost in case you want to Toe to Toe the villain. Practiced Defense helps with that too!

Otherwise, pretty standard Aggression stuff - the only other more obscure thing is Counterattack. It's a Tactic upgrade, so you can grab it with the AE ability or with Tactical Brilliance. Play it after Toe to Toe and trigger Warrior Skill to get even more damage!
