Moon Girl + Chance Encounter is one of the most fun and broken combos in the game and somehow no one seems to be playing it. I haven’t seen any decks that features both cards, which is wild considering how strong the interaction is especially when paired with Nova.

This deck is built entirely around that engine. It’s explosive, consistent, and extremely satisfying to play.

The Core Loop

At the heart of the deck is this cycle you can pull of pretty much every turn:

  1. Use One Way or Another to pull a side scheme and draw 3 cards
  2. Play Chance Encounter on that scheme
  3. Clear it with Clear the Area and Skilled Investigator to draw 2 more cards
  4. Trigger Chance Encounter to search for Moon Girl
  5. Play Moon Girl with 3 mentals (easy for Nova thanks to wilds) and draw 3 cards

That’s 8 cards drawn, and if you unleashed the Nova force this turn then that’s 9 cards and a ready for Nova (which means yet another resource), Moon Girl in play, and you haven’t even used many of your resources yet. You can pull off this sequence nearly every turn.

Why Nova?

This combo works best with Nova for three reasons:

  1. He has the Champion trait in hero form, so you don’t need to flip to play Moon Girl
  2. He has easy access to mental/wild resources to fully trigger her response
  3. He actively wants to defeat side schemes and minions thanks to Unleash Nova Force

Nova’s kit doesn’t just fit this loop, it enhances it.

More Ways to Use Chance Encounter

  1. Grab Ms. Marvel and loop Unleash Nova Force every single turn
  2. Play it, bounce it with Kamala, hold it for next turn
  3. Nick Fury or Miles Morales for burst damage
  4. Mockingbird for survivability and reliable blocks

Because you run multiple copies of Chance Encounter, you can afford to be flexible and aggressive with ally cycling.

The Finisher: Waylay This deck used to struggle with closing out games. It doesn’t anymore since the introduction of Waylay

  1. Clear a scheme and play Waylay for 7 damage
  2. Use Ms. Marvel to bring it back, play it again = 14 damage
  3. Use Chance Encounter to grab Nick or Miles and deal another 5–6
  4. With Symbiote Suit and a basic Nova attack, you’re easily hitting 20+ on a final turn

And all of that is happening while still drawing cards and triggering Unleash Nova Force again.

Final Thoughts

This deck has taken down Expert Magneto, Venom Goblin, Ronan, and plenty of other villains that have made me question my life choices. Now it’s your turn. Try it out and enjoy watching Nova, Moon Girl, and friends absolutely break the game and get revenge on the villains who’ve made you suffer.

This looks awesome and fun! I’ve really wanted to try Nova again, not sure the best way to build him. Thanks!
