My first attempt at publishing a deck.
I put this deck together for a 2-player MTS campaign, pairing it with Captain Marvel in leadership. I modified the deck a bit based on the villain (for example, reduced confuses when we got to Thanos), but most of the cards remained the same. The deck brings a lot of thwarting to the table, and easily handled threat while Captain Marvel handled minions and helped to defend both heroes with allies.
As a newish player, the cards used are pretty standard- no flashy combos. Just good solid thwarts and attacks. Here are the basic ideas:
Some allies that can chump block, provide card draw (Nick and Ironheart) to help change forms, and in Machine Man's case, provide a resource dump for when Spectrum gets all her money on the table.
Concussive blow and Sonic rifle confuse the villain to allow for safe trips to alter ego. Quincarrier turns concussive blow into some additional damage for a deck that is built primarily around thwarting.
Lay Down the Law is easy to trigger given Spectrum's form changes. Making an Entrance can buff her basic thwart so that she reliably heals (which is important, given that she can be squishy and you don't always want to use her Defense form).
Down time also gives some extra heals, and Deft Focus can be used to pay for so many of her cards, including her resource generators.
Heroic intuition, Specialized training, and Soaring Acrobatics power up her basic activations, and Ready to Rumble and Justice Served let you take advantage of the stat buffs.
I have had luck with this deck in both solo and multiplayer. In solo, I tend to go for an ATK boost from specialized training. For multiplayer, I tend to go all out on thwarting.
The deck played very well with Captain Marvel leadership. Both heroes are already rich in resources, but then we combined Mission Leader with a copy of skilled investigator for each hero, so side schemes became something to look forward to!

Jul 29, 2025Congrats on your first published deck! I’ve been having a lot of fun going back to spectrum lately too. She’s underrated! Making an Entrance is soooo good with her!! |
Soaring Acrobatics is so fun with her. This deck can pump out thwarting. Very cool
