I don't even know if this is the right interpretation of the rules and the cards. For all I know this may not even work the way I think it does. I haven't seen any other Ms. Marvel decks use this, and I don't have the time to do a deep dive on it.
If it doesn't work the way I think it does, then this is just another Ms. Marvel thwart event deck.
If it does work the way I think it does, then this is probably another reason to have a Legacy and a Current Environment.
So here goes.
I am a firm believer that Infiltration is the greatest thwart card made to date. Costs 1, gives you a minion, and you get up to 5 threat removed. That's really good. Looking at the wording closer, though, there's a bit of room here for debate on how it removes threat.
Argument #1 (and this is how I first read the card): You choose a number, discard that many cards from the encounter deck, and then remove that number of threat from a scheme.
Argument #2 (and the way I currently interpret it according to similar wording on other cards): You choose a number, discard that many cards from the encounter deck, and then remove 1 threat from a scheme X number of times, where X is equal to the number you chose.
If Argument #1 is the correct rules official interpretation, then I stand corrected and this deck has nothing really new to offer.
If Argument #2 is the correct rules official interpretation, well, then we have a whole new kettle of fish here with Ms. Marvel and Shrink.
Because if Argument # 2 is correct... and you use Shrink...
That's 3 threat from a scheme for each card discarded this way. Which is to say a total of 15 threat removed for EC 2.
And then Ms. Marvel exhausts and pops Infiltration back into hand to do it again...
Then Justice Served happens and Ms. Marvel is ready...
Turn the Tide with Embiggen! hits for 5 damage...
Ms. Marvel exhausts and pops Turn the Tide back into hand...
Play Infiltration as normal for 5 more threat removed...
Play Turn the Tide again for another 3 damage...
20 total threat removed from up to 5 schemes, plus 8 damage.
Chain link schemes via Overwatch for added fun.
That's just the surface level of Hero play strategy I came up with off the top of my head. There's another level in Alter-Ego that I haven't really looked at yet. I suspect these crazy combos could be accomplished with help from Bruno Carrelli and Vigilante Training.
But if I'm wrong and Infiltration doesn't work that way, then no biggie.
Oh man. Biggie size Frosty from Wendy's sounds good right now. They don't have Biggie size anymore, do they? I'm old.
