I originally created this deck to defeat Master Mold on expert difficulty in solo play. This was after having played multiple games with my first pass at a Cyclops Aggression deck that relied on things like Mutant Education and X-Mansion. The idea was to flip down when these cards were available in order to shuffle back in tactics cards or Full Blast.

With Master Mold having Stalwart, I couldn't rely on Confuse effects from allies such as Professor X, Psylocke, or Dazzler in order to safely flip down to alter-ego. And when doing so, you have to mill for a minion when Master Mold schemes. This led to a few games where not only did I already have a minion out, I'd mill for a minion with Master Mold's forced response, and the main scheme would pop, causing me to mill for another minion. The games would result in losses by attrition. I chose allies that were cost effective, but also had key abilities such as Tempus to provide a way to flip down if I have to without relying on a confuse.

So, I wanted to create a deck where I could be able to rush with Cyclops while staying up in hero form as much as possible. This meant having more Tactics cards come up in order to use Optic Blast, Cyclops' attack events, and Take That!. The result was not only I able to take on Master Mold, but other minion heavy encounters as well.

Tactics

Early on you want to get Utopia and The X-Jet or your Ruby Quartz Visor out. Mulligan for them and use Priority Targetto draw them out.

After that, your next priority is Field Commander so you can keep Exploit Weakness on the villain.

Then, combo Marked with Take That! or just use Full Blast on minions to maximize overkill damage on the villain.

If you need to ping a tough, I'd often use Cyclops' basic attack, then play an ally, using Utopia to ready Cyclops again for some thwarting, or to ready him up after defending.

I use Phoenix, Marvel Girl, and Gambit for thwarting along side Cyclops quite a bit.

Make use of Suppressing Fire and Triage to heal up and reduce the chances of having to flip down to recover.

Switching Tactics

If you're going up against a villain that you can confuse, consider switching out Marvel Girl for Dazzler, Tempus for Psylocke, and Gambit for Professor X.

A strong consideration is to add Superpower Training as a 41st card, or by removing one Suppressing Fire to keep the deck at 40 since you could flip down to recover.
