I don't do a lot of pure theme decks, but I wanted to try to replicate a team from a favorite comic of mine when I was young. The original West Coast Avengers.
For that team we had Hawkeye as team leader, Mockingbird, Wonder Man, James Rhodes (as Iron Man at the time, but we will settle for War Machine here) and Tigra. Since Tigra is not available in Leadership, we will have the take the closest thing we have and go with White Tiger. Hank Pym didn't join until a few issues in, but we'll pick up where he joins the team and add his Ant-Man card.
There is no Avengers Compound card, so we'll just assume it serves the functions of Avengers Mansion and Avengers Tower.
Now that we have a team and their HQ, how will they work? Mighty Avengers is a pretty obvious addition. One of the problems I see is Wonder Man who needs to use cards to attack, but Hawkeye usually wants to spend all of his cards, so lets add some card draw with Strength In Numbers. However, if we exhaust allies to draw cards, we will need to ready them to use them, so let's add Inspiring Presence and Command Team.
This is a lot of cards to get into play, so let's give the team some economy with Organizational Support. Toss in a few Quinjet to help finance those cards, as well as to drop in allies and recur Mockingbird. She and the other allies can take advantage of Ready for Action to provide Hawkeye defense and still stay in play to function for Organizational Support and Strength In Numbers.
I didn't add it because there is already a lot of setup here, but Team Training might be a worthwhile add, giving a bit more life to your West Coast Avengers and a little more utility from Command Team.
How does it play? Pretty good, it's not a powerhouse deck but it functions in both solo and multiplayer, and is a little better in multiplayer where is can be a multipurpose, fill-in-the-gaps type of deck.
Love it, thematic decks are always great!
