NEGATE OPPONENT'S PLANS ENTIRELY, known henceforth as N.O.P.E. is S.H.I.E.L.D.'s new secret operation to neutralize whatever bs the villain wants to throw at you!
that's the look of a man who does not ever plan on revealing Under Fire
Let's cut to the chase. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is probably the weakest of the TEAM cards. Canceling a really bad encounter card is great! But it's only once per turn...and then you still have to reveal another...what if it's worse!?!? Here's where Nick comes in. He's got one of the best encounter card cancels ever: Intelligence Analysis.
Its a zero cost preparation that we can keep replaying when used with Practiced Plan, and it completely cancels an encounter card without making you draw another. The catch is that it only works on treacheries. This is where our team card comes in! If you ever reveal something bad that isn't a treachery, NOPE! Then the next card you get will either be a treachery that can be canceled, or it will be something else that you can probably handle just fine.
The N.O.P.E. Squad
So I've pretty much slammed the whole S.H.I.E.L.D. crew in here, but they are all pretty good. Nick Fury, Sr. and Mockingbird are great when recurred with Rapid Response, but you know all about that by now, I'm sure. Melinda May can add a bit more N.O.P.E., but with your boost cards this time. Or if you stunned the villain with Mockingbird, then she can N.O.P.E. your encounter card too. There isn't any special combos here with Slingshot, and this deck doesn't even have that many , but honestly she's fairly costed to play out at full price.
Prepare for Rejection
This is a Preparation focused deck. Build out your board of prep cards early while in stealth, and use allies to clear minions and threat. You want to have a board full of preparations, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and Secret Agent out, and then you're ready to rock.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is my primary target for Build Support by the way, mainly because its just too expensive for me to want to pay full price. So if I see the Team card early, I tend to skip it knowing I'll tutor it later.
From there you can just abuse Rapid Response, while canceling whatever the villain is trying to do. Stealth form plus multiple Secret Agent procs each turn will give Nick tons of intel that you can transform into massive damage to end the game.
So that's that. Just a really fun control-focused Nick Fury deck that is not in justice. This was an evolution of the first Nick Fury deck I put together for my original run through the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. campaign, but its come together so well that I figured I'd share. This did really well against expert Nebula, so I recommend that match up. Trying to prevent her from getting techniques was a really fun dynamic.
So until next time, remember: If the villain tries to Surge, Just Say N.O.P.E.

May 23, 2025Looks fun! Intelligence Analysis is so good. I like that you made a build focused around it. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. isn't the best team card, but it occassionally helps you not lose. |

Really good stuff here! I did a similar thing recently in Justice with Nick but S.H.I.E.L.D gave him a Symbiote suit to make it more fun? Challenging? Something like that
