I apologize for my difficulties with HTML formatting here... not sure why the links aren't working.
Also, though I thought I was having an original idea here, RedBear64 put out a similar deck with exactly the same title weeks ago. Check it out here: https://marvelcdb.com/decklist/view/47568/the-expendables-1.0
English
Here's the general idea: get The Circe out as early as possible, and keep it running all game by shifting counters to it with Command Team until you can get S.H.I.E.L.D. Director out to get at least one free use every turn. Then play out big allies, use them up with Command Team, then block with them or discard them for big gains with Save the Day or Go Down Swinging. Have Fun!

Maria Hill is Boring
Both Nelson All over Cards (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=phCpHvWykpc) and D20 Woodworking (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5u9wrHzvtc) have observed that Maria Hill can get pretty samey when you play the most intuitive way: getting loads of supports and move counters and ready helicarriers. [The Pericles](/card/50020) is very very strong. Too strong, probably, because it trivializes the villain's activations. So I set out to do something different. The Circe can put an ally into play for (basically) free. So let's revisit the "discarding allies" from War Machine. Save the Day and Go Down Swinging never really seemed that fun when I was trying to put allies into play with Sneak Attack. Even when using Sneak Attack, the cost of putting an ally into play is 3 effective resources, and you don't get to *keep* the ally. With The Circe, you get the powerful ally for only one effective resource (the ally itself). I've included some great choices like Heimdall, Falcon, and Beast who have great When Entering Play abilities, and these can be recurred with Rapid Response. Thanks @Teraxe for pointing out in the comments that Spider-Man and White Tiger do not trigger their great abilities when "put into play", so you must play them from your hand to benefit. I've kept them, though, because White Tiger is great in Expert Mode (four effective resources to play, but then get 2-3 back), and Miles Morales with Command Team is a winner every time. It might also get a bit samey, but it's not a support spam! The Circe is a fun card, but only Maria Hill can really make this work... no one else can consistently use it. Reinforcements can keep counters on your Command Teams, and though 7 supports isn't a grand number, it's enough to make All-Points Bulletin worth playing. I also found this deck works just fine without Rapid Response... maybe even better without it (because you reduce the chance of getting a "dead" hand for the Circe with no good allies to play for free

Mar 27, 2025One thing to know, White Tiger and Spider-Man do not trigger their response when put into play with The Circe or Rapid Response. |

I'll have to apologize to Batroc though... I cheated against him last night |
Mar 27, 2025Mocking Bird could be a good replacement for one of them, especially against minions that are vulnerable. |
Mar 27, 2025I hate to be that guy, and I probably wouldn't even call it out if it weren't for the name and the fact that this deck hit the front page, but I published a very similar deck a couple weeks ago... |

I'm not sure why my Card links aren't working, nor is some of my formatting. Sorry if the writeup is hard to read!
