In her years as S.H.I.E.L.D.’s top strategist, Maria Hill has orchestrated countless covert ops, but Operation Doppelgänger might be one of her most ambitious plays yet. When intelligence reports flagged a mutant with the ability to create and control infinite duplicates of himself, Maria saw the perfect asset for a classified initiative—one that could change the face of espionage and tactical warfare forever.

But recruitment wasn’t simple. James Arthur Madrox, better known as Multiple Man, wasn’t an easy sell. A private detective, a former X-Factor agent, and a man who’s been burned by government oversight before, he had no reason to trust S.H.I.E.L.D. That changed when Maria got an introduction through Anna Marie Lebeau, a mutant of such incredible power that she’s had a permanent place on S.H.I.E.L.D.’s radar. If Rogue vouched for Maria, Jamie figured the offer was at least worth hearing out.

Now, under Hill’s command, Madrox’s duplicates form an elite rapid-response team—able to be anywhere, anytime, in numbers no enemy can predict. With Maria’s leadership and Jamie’s ability to multiply their forces exponentially, S.H.I.E.L.D. has never been stronger.
