Basic idea:
- Mockingbird seems cool; activate twice, then instead of chump blocking just return her to your hand.
- Oops, but that costs a resource.
- Oops, and playing her that same round costs 3 resources, so... wait, that means I have to spend 4 of the 5 cards I just drew. That's not repeatable, is it?
Luckily, she's an Avenger and a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, so we can play some other permanents to help out:
- Avengers Tower reduces her cost by 1 (to 2)
- Helicarrier reduces her cost by 1 (to 1)
- Government Liaison reduces her cost by 1 (to 0)
- Quincarrier generates a wild resource (to pay for returning her to hand).
Now we're free to spend all our other cards actually doing stuff -- though of course that's what all the other heroes were already doing.
The bright side is this is only the main goal / "worst case" of these cards; they're versatile enough to do other stuff too if needed (e.g. reduce other players' costs with Helicarrier and/or Avengers Tower). And, the deck can be stacked with stuff that would otherwise not "pay off" on the heavy S.H.I.E.L.D. investment, because we are already expecting to play one Avenger/S.H.I.E.L.D. card on most phases (Mockingbird).
