Intro:
- This is an update to this Gamora deck I made a few years ago. It's still a solo rush deck meant to play the Hulk ally, but with a new twist. I wanted to make a deck made specifically for the increasing amounts of Steady and Stalwart villains. So, even though Drop Kick, Concussive Blow, and Tackle are amazing cards for Gamora, I've left them out here. There's enough new ways to do damage that you should be able to take down the villain in record time, and still flip down to alter ego a time or two.
Gameplay:
-
Gamora has a few things that have really improved her Aggression aspect. Lock and Load gets her sword out faster. Superpower Training can do the same, but if you already have Gamora's Sword then put in a Keen Instincts instead. The beauty here is that Lock and Load can be cleared with just her hero power while Superpower Training can be cleared with her hero power + an attack event. Setup is faster than ever.
-
Hulk can still smash. Be aware of where Forward Momentum, Conditioning Room and Test the Defense are, but otherwise he can his way to 20 to 25 damage.
-
With her sword out, you'll do plenty more damage. A Clobber at the beginning of the round becomes 4 damage and 1 thwart for one resource spent. Even Crosscounter becomes 3 damage and 2 thwart. Add in Jarnbjorn, Plan B and Test the Defense, and you can see final rounds of 15 to 25 damage with minimal setup.
-
Hard Knocks, Conditioning Room and Multitalented are your main ways to stay Tough, heal and get extra cards. Once Conditioning Room is out, you should have a good shot (66% or so) at an 8 card round. Those extra attacks add up with the sword out.
-
With both Keen Instincts and Martial Prowess on the board, you can hit all 3 resource options, and heal for 2, do 4 damage total, and thwart for 3 with Multitalented. Crosscounter will hit for 3, thwart for 2 and stop 3 damage. You can trigger it with Martial Prowess.
-
Have fun doing what no other hero can do so smoothly - rush and thwart at the same time!

Dec 19, 2024Gamora is so good! |
Dec 20, 2024Is it worth including Atlas Bear to screen Hulk against something embarrassing like discarding Nebula? |

She gives you the option to take a little more variety in cards. I had Psylocke in that deck, for a bit of extra freedom getting to alter-ego (I appreciate you're deliberately avoiding status effects in this version). Once she's been played, Atlas shouldn't go back into the deck, so her own isn't that big a deal. |

Dec 21, 2024I wrote Gamora off years ago as dull and not my style. But you’re making me want to try again with this deck! |
This looks really solid. Love the inclusion of test the defense, good stuff!
