The Iceman Cometh

Ok so this is my first custom deck (so be gentle). It is derived from the default Iceman deck, but with a number of tweaks.

As with any Iceman deck, the goal is to ready him as often as possible to stack Frostbites. This is accomplished in a number of ways. First, I stacked the deck with cheap (cost 2) X-Men allies so as to spam Utopia. Speaking of which, one of those allies is Forge, who gives you a second shot at pulling Utopia early. And if you already have Utopia in play, he can grab the X-Jet or X-Mansion from your deck or discard.

Professor X is the only cost 3 ally that I included, and for good reason. He can ready Iceman just by showing up. Combine him with Utopia, and you can be ready AND confuse the villain or stun a minion. Top it off with a couple of X-Men Instructions and you can recycle Xavier (and another ally) through your deck up to two more times.

Looking for Trouble is, IMO, just a fun (if not necessarily the "best") way to chip away at some threat, and Iceman has multiple ways to "one shot" a minion. Ice Blast will take care of 3HP minions and, failing that, the combo of Suppressing Fire/Surprise Move will take care of the 4HP's (or 5HP's if Ice Slide is in play!).
