Just mulligan aggressively and cycle through your deck, search for a copy of Suit Up and play Honey Badger on your first turn. Add Danger Room Training and Sidekick on your ally and your engine building is basically over. You’ll probably need though Endurance if villains are hitting hard and/or have retaliate trait or even better Adamantium Lacing if you need to clear those tough status cards. Add Inspired to make a beast out of your sidekick and increase your thwarting/attacking potential. Most of the games you need those 3 upgrades but sometimes it’s nice to have Reinforced Suit as well. If you don’t have those in your hand, you can Suit Up some of them taking Professor X as a resource. Yoy can play him as well sometimes and confuse a villain if not steady/stalwart. X-Gene is always a nice addition to the build, generating resource for a Claw Mastery to attack for +2 every single time you make a basic attack or Regenerative Longevity if you are low on hit points. In a late game the most crucial cards are Side by Side, Game Time and Get Ready (it’s 9 out of 40 cards in your deck and 6 of them are 0 cost events) and you should be able to take out the most powerful villains on expert mode.

I like that you tagged this setup for "Solo", as MPer (esp4) your obligation comes out more often and it can only be 'discarded'. Which forces you home (without half your extra readies) and drops all attachments off the Badger before you can get her back.

But, yeah X-23 is just plain quick (ave cost "less" than 1!) & vicious in solo, and can snap out a reliably significant thwart too!

Would you consider Morale Boost over Leadership Skill? It'll get min 2 uses even if you alone and naked T1 - but prob 4-5 times for the same cost (and uber on Animal Instinct)

Hey Sluggie, thanks for the comment. Yeah, her obligation is just so punishing, especially if you fully built Honey Badger. If you have Suit Up in your hand it doesn’t mean losing the game, but it really makes it difficult to come back. I love Leadership Skill, find it very handy in a late game to have this +1 thw/att for a couple of uses. Morale Boost is a sweet idea, a lot of power in combo with Side by Side and I am definitely gonna try how it works. This +1 defend could be counterproductive though, we definitely want to take damage while defending. But on the other hand against some high attacking villains it could be a life saver. In my experience, the games with this deck are 3 to 7 rounds, I just dont want to deck out. That’s why we probably want 2 or 3 copies of Morale Boost. Maybe taking out Leadership Skill and one copy of Get Ready to make room for 2 copies of Morale Boost.
