SYNOPSIS
Justice Control Deck. Make use of Betsy's Alter Ego ability to loop Blindfold to control the Villain's turn. Play in Alter Ego to make use of the X-Men/Mutant support cards.
MULLIGAN
Cerebro is a must have. Hard mulligan for it. Build Support and Forge are substitute ways of finding Cerebro.
PLAYSTYLES
Play in AE most of the game. Go to Hero as needed. Loop allies to manage the early game while you setup. Loop an ally and build up 1-2 supports/upgrades per turn.
Blindfold Control:
Loop Blindfold every turn.
Blindfold thwarts for 2; and defends for a teammate or thwarts and additional 2.
Takes out one encounter card per turn and lines up the villain activation.
Prof X Value:
Loop Prof. X every turn.
Prof. X thwarts for 3; and confuses an enemy, or readies an X-Men, or stuns a minion; and defends for a teammate.
Flurry of Flurry Of Blades:
Use AE ability to put Flurry of Blades back in the deck to repeatedly see it.
Float Like a Butterfly buffs the damage from Flurry to hit for 9 damage when the enemy is confused.
X-Men and Mutant Support:
Use X-Mansion to heal other Mutant and X-Men characters. Heal teammates or your allies. Ready your X-Men teammates with Utopia as you will play Blindfold or Prof. X almost every turn. Trigger Danger Room for your teammates' X-Men allies. You won't need Helicarrier so give it out as needed.
Hero Tempo:
Flip to hero when you need extra tempo. Wipe out minions with Flurry of Blades by splitting up the damage or taking it all onto one minion. Banshee can confuse a minion so that Flurry of blade can do more damage from Float Like Butterfly. Remove tough status with your basic attack. Thwart with Lay Down the Law or Mental Detection or your basic thwart. Telepathy and Telekinesis can give you extra damage or thwart as needed.
DECK PILOTING NOTES
Resources Management:
Resources are swappable and limited based on cards in deck. Cerebro draws you an ally which is plus hand economy, but to loop the allies you convert the psi-energy into a rejuvenation. Training Regimen fetches SKILL cards, but need to have those cards remaining in deck. Keep in mind available deck options.
Threat Danger:
Staying in AE means the villain will scheme. Must deal with the main scheme advancing. When side schemes hit the board then the threat accumulation can become too much.
Looping Blindfold or Prof X slows down the threat accumulation and side scheme build up. Lay Down the Law and Mental Detection is also burst threat clear. Can flip to Hero form to thwart with basic thwart.
Minion Danger:
Minions can over run the game as Blindfold and Professor X have 0 attack. In multiplayer, pair with a minion slayer teammate or ask teammates to handle the minions. Cycle a Flurry of Blades every turn you're in AE to make sure you hit the Flurries. Use flurry to knockout multiple minions or one big one. Flip to Hero to use your 3 ATK to take out minions. Banshee is further Minion control; play him to have a 2 atk/2thw ally that is X-Men trait; he can take out the minions or he can thwart to confuse a minion nullifying them until you can clear them.
Flurry Combo:
Late game combo. Use 3 flurry of blades in a turn for big damage. Once all resources are setup. You can draw into 3 Flurry of Blades naturally by timing your psi-weapon cycle effect. All of your resources on the board can generate +2 ERC, In hero form you'll have psi-weapons, x-gene, and Helicarrier for +4 ERC, and a starting hand size of 6. Total ERC of 12. Allowing you to play 3 flurry of blades in a turn. With Float Like A Butter Fly and a confused enemy you can hit for extra damage; 27 total from Flurry and 4 from Hero attack. Can set this back up regularly or repeatedly.
Damage Soak:
Flip between hero and AE every turn to be more impactful. You can still loop an ally but will be limited in what else you do in the Hero to AE turn. Take villain damage to the face, then use your action to recover. Down Time helps to undo the damage you take. Use your allies to defend for your teammates so they do not need to defend.
