Shout out to journeyman2, classyrobot, megidoladyne and corbintm for suggestions on how to improve this deck. And to classyrobot for the name suggestion.
The premise of the deck here is to get Magik into the armory, use a plethora of weapons to deal big damage and ready as often as possible . The combo of weapons is Godslayer, Jarnbjorn and her Soulsword. With Side Holster out we can have all of these weapons out at one time. And with magik's economy, it is relatively easy to get all these out on a consistent basis.
The Basics:
The most important card is still Limbo which allows us to do a ton of different things. We can not only swap a card from our hand to the top of our deck once per phase but also play a card from the top of the deck once per phase. In the villain phase, we can play Magic Barrier or Colossus to protect us from damage. During our turn, we can swap to play our more expensive cards from the top or manipulate to ensure we hit kickers for attack events or her Soulsword.
Combat Training is in to give Magik and extra +1 on her attack and makes a big difference is the amount of damage you can do per turn.
The Sorcerer Supreme gives us a +1 hand size in hero form which helps us have more resources.
Spiritual Meditation allows us to cycle through the deck quicker by drawing 2 cards and then having to discard one from our hand. It does not have to be one of the 2 cards you drew which allows a lot of flexibility.
Basic Spell does not seem like good value however with Magik's ability to swap cards to the top of the deck and play them for 1 resource less makes this more valuable. You can heal yourself for 3 without having to flip down or if you need an emergency thwart you can utilize it to remove 3 threat. The other benefit to this card is that when you do flip back to hero from alter-ego it is another target to put on the top of the deck. This works especially well if you do not have Exorcism and the villain just schemed. Flip to hero, put Basic Spell on top and then use it to remove 3 threat.
Scrying is a phenomenal card that allows us to look at the top 3 of the deck and then draw one, discard one and put one of top. This is typically the card i will target when i play Stepping Disc since it sets up your next couple of plays.
Order of importance:
Limbo-sets up both phases and makes life easier
Soulsword- i love having the piercing effect to get rid of toughs
Combat Training- allows us to hit a little harder and since we ready alot this is important
Utopia- allows us to get an extra ready when we play an X-Men ally
The X-Jet- allows us an extra resource and once Jarnborn is out, provides that resource for an extra 2 damage per attack.
Jarnbjorn- provides 2 damage per attack as long as we spend a fist resource
Godslayer- provides plus 2 attack but only against unique enemies
The Sorcerer Supreme- this may be controversial but with the low cost of the deck i do not feel it is as essential as the other cards but definitely provides value.
Magik's Crown is great for giving her steady. It's not necessary to the deck strategy but it's very helpful in status heavy scenarios.
The Weapons:
Lock and Load is included to get a upgrade out early if we didn't draw into one or for Godslayer since it is the most expensive. Both the soulsword and jarnborn can be played from the top of the deck for free.
I prioritize getting her Soulsword out first since it gives you piercing, the +1 damage from the top of the deck is a nice bonus.
Godslayer give us +2 damage for attacking unique enemies which allows us to stack big damage on the villian.
Jarnbjorn lets us deal 2 damage to an enemy after we attack if we spend a fist resource. The X-Jet is included specifically for this since it can generate a resource for us.
Once you have all 3 weapons out, Magik can swing for 5 if you have the kicker from Soulsword/ 6 if you have combat training out plus another 2 from Jarnborn.
We can also use Mean Swing on both Soulsword and Jarnborn for an extra 3 damage. Neither of those weapons have to exhaust to get their benefits so you can use them with Mean Swing.
The Readies:
Utopia allows us to ready every time an X-Men ally enters play and this deck has 7 with all being 3 cost or less. 4 of them are 2 cost and1 cost if played from the top of the deck. The other 3 would cost 3 resources and 2 off the top.
Stepping Disc allows us to ready and grab a Magik card (not stepping disc unfortunately) from discard.
Professor X can be used for confuse if you need to flip down or you can use him for another ready which is typically what i do in this deck.
I actually had a game where i was able to get 3 readies from 3 different effects in 1 turn. I attacked, then used Stepping Disc for a second ready. Then played an ally which triggered Utopia and then also played Professor X for a 4th ready.
The allies: Obviously we are missing 2 of the stronger Aggression X-men heroes in this deck but the focus is on Magik and her attack so we want low cost allies to trigger Utopia as often as possible.
Angel provides us a really cheap ally who can also hand out some decent damage.
Forge is another low cost ally who allows us to also grab an X-men support which we have 2 of in Utopia and The X-Jet. Both are important to the decks overall strategy.
Legion is an ally who works really well in Magik decks since you can see the top card of your deck. We do not have alot of fist resources to heal him but we do have quite a few energy and mental to either deal an extra 2 damage or remove 2 more threat.
Professor X was mentioned above.
Sunfire is another cheap ally who has a really good effect on entry. You can spend an energy resource to get rid of a card that has "hero response" or "hero action" on it which is quite a few villain attachments. He also provides a solid 2 attack.
Triage is another cheap ally who can come in and heal an X-men character for 2 which is really beneficial.
Colossus is our signature ally who comes in with tough and has solid 2 attack/ 2 thwart. He can also be recurred with Stepping Disc to the top of the deck.
Cards that were considered or cut:
Hand Cannon works put it has to exhaust which means you can't use Mean Swing on it and it has limited uses.
Directed Force was in here to provide extra damage when Soulsword or Hand Cannon were out but they ended up being too situational.
Goldballs was in here initially and i love him but in this deck he was consistently discarding cards i needed and i decided to cut him.
Storm was a good option for thwart removal but she was cut in favor of lower cost allies.
Magic Attack was in here and was one of the last cards cut. I love it and it definitely provides great damage but if used early it can discard some of your essential cards.
Bloodgem is a cheap card that can be used to get the resource for Jarnborn but Magik does not have a ton of health nor a large recovery so i decided against it.
Overall, the deck has been a ton of fun to play and even though it is focused on attacking and readies it still deals with threat pretty well through allies and the recursion of events.

Looks great! I was trying Fluid Motion out with her but utilizing the weapons that don’t need to exhaust is easier and effective
