Black Widow is a great ice to ‘pool’s fire…a salt to ‘pool’s pepper, the chaperone to ‘pool’s party. And she does a great job at it. She’s one of the best control heroes in the game. So this is what happens when you try to increase the amount of chaos to control, and it’s kinda beautiful.
This deck was explicitly built to beat Ebony Maw with Symbiotic Strength and Osborn Tech on expert 2 (which was surprisingly difficult, even on expert), but this deck has shown itself to be worthwhile in any situation (though I haven’t tested other villains on expert 2, just in expert). That’s why Espionage is in this deck. It’s a lot of surging. But the card is still nice for recouping your ER spend and dealing a damage to someone for using it. Not bad in a control, precision deck.
Slow your tempo
The nice part of this deck is how it can equip you to slow the villain’s pace. Distraction helps you freeze minions until you can take care of them. If you’re not playing someone stalwart, you can also use the stuns and confuses to slow down activations.
Always Prepare
This deck leans into flipping down almost every turn so you can get the one card draw bonus for playing a preparation card. It also comes with enough powerful thwart allies to help manage the board so you can flip down.
Get your preparations down and get Healing Factor into play. You’ll always have enough health for the pool resources to at least be doubles. This helps a ton with getting down allies and her synth suit.
Shut Down Boosts
Always have a Target Acquired in play because there are a lot of bad boost abilities to cancel. Playing Ronan? Cancel the Hammer. Playing expert 2? Cancel the extra facedown encounter card.
Attacrobatics is also nice with encounters that have high boost values.
Don’t Skip on the Build
Yeah, don’t pass up Safe House #29 or Avengers Mansion. They really help this engine bootstrap. The resources are there to ease the burden of them all.
Control Chaos
Now you’re ready to swim in the deep end.
Such a shame they didn’t add any preparation cards with pool, lol.
