Let's admit it. It's really uncomfortable to let Professor X block for your hero. I imagine it goes something like this between the characters:

  • Professor X: Okay, Piotr! Taskmaster is confused, I've stopped his plot, and will now slowly wheel myself away.

  • Colossus: (Colossus pushes the wheelchair out in front of Taskmaster and locks the wheels) I need you to block for me. Sorry, Professor!

  • Professor X: What? I have 3 hit points. You have 14! ...and two Tough status cards. Take the hit, Colossus.

  • Colossus: But I don't have Organic Steel or Iron Will. Blocking will hurt my economy. It will only hurt for little while.

  • Professor X: If you flip down to Alter Ego, you may get Armor Up...

  • Colossus: I already changed my form to hero this turn. My apologies...

  • Professor X: You're literally made of metal! Please...

  • Colossus: (Colossus silently exhausts Xavier and walks away)

Poor Professor! So, let's flip that script. What if Professor X could get his revenge on the villain? What if he could hit for 5 then ready and thwart for 4? With Float Like a Butterfly, Befuddle, Leader of the Guardians and C.I.T.T., you can do exactly that. Outside of that novelty, this deck is really versatile.

Here are the highlights:

  • With Leader of the Guardians each ally can thwart for 3 except Gamora. With C.I.T.T. you can do it again if need be.

  • Combining that with the effect of Float Like a Butterfly makes 4 allies can hit for at least 3 damage - They become very versatile.

  • If you need damage output, remember that any confused enemy attacked with Element Gun will hit for 4 with FLaB. Your last two resources each round should be a choice between 8 damage, and whatever those 2 resources can get you.

  • Stay on your hero side most of the game. Only flip down to AE when you absolutely need to (or you want to do Wolfsbane cheats). This will ensure you get maximum effect from FLaB, and will keep confuse on the villain and minions.

  • Remember that Upside the Head becomes a stun on a confused enemy (especially the villain). Star-Lord needs stuns especially if he stays on his hero side.

  • When you do flip to AE, Wolfsbane + Smooth Talker = a free card. Remember that Wolfy will only thwart for 2 because he's not a Guardian then.

  • Make sure to confuse minions with Eros, Banshee and Dazzler. Eros + Genius or The Power of Justice is just so much fun. Especially if that minion is Befuddled.

So, go out there and kill that minion with the old guy in the wheelchair. Or the blind girl. Or the God of Love.
